My 355 spider (1996) only came with one key and immobiliser (the Ferrari one)

Speaking to Egham they’re not expensive at around £150 but apparently they need to come coded from the factory and there is one (presumably Windows XP) machine in Maranello to do this and it’s been broken for a year with way no idea when it will be fixed!

Is there any other way to get a second immobiliser fob?

Thank you

If this is the two black one red bosch system there are specialists in usa (mark/gobble) & france (eric355) who can be contacted via ferrarichat - it is also possible that voicey at av in uk can help

They don't need coding by the factory, but the factory does have to authorise the purchase, or at least that was the case when I bought mine. You can just buy a set of three fobs (171851) from Eurospares or Maranello or whoever. They might ask for your V5 but they'll just send you a set of fobs from stock. Now, coding them to the car is dead simple IF you have the 4-digit immobiliser PIN. This may be on what looks like an old payslip in your handbooks, or a previous owner may even have written it on the immobiliser ECU itself.

If you don't have the PIN, it can be recovered by the contacts mentioned above, which will involve sending them your immobiliser ECU - they'll sell you some fobs too. But if you have the PIN, the cheaper option will be to buy a set of fobs in the UK and code them yourself (instructions here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvrtCCJpaIs). I recovered my own PIN via a Heath Robinson system based on a Raspberry Pi which I am happy to share the details of if you are technically inclined.
