Just picked up a 355 spider manual with a Capristo exhaust.

What a noise! Compared to my NSX, the ergonomics are a joke, the interior build quality not really as good (even if the leather is nicer), but the noise! Hard to believe that it's street legal. Too soon to comment on actual driving as I've only just got it.

I'm going to look forward to comparing the two, but my initial impression is that they are surprisingly different for two ostensibly similar cars. Both utterly wonderful in their own right though. Next Spring can't come soon enough for some road trips.

I have no desire for anything more modern (other than an EV to drive daily) when you can still run cars like these!

This thread needs pics. The 355 and the original NSX are two of my top 10 favorite cars ever.

Do you know what level of Capristo you have installed, should be stamped on it.

The system comes in three volume levels. Level 1 provides a moderate sound increase over the stock system, maintaining a nearly standard sound at low rpm but becoming wild above 4000 rpm when the valve opens. Level 2 offers a fuller and louder sound at low revs, while Level 3 makes the car very loud at low revs. All three levels produce the same high-rev sound, as the upper channel is completely un-silenced for a direct exit.

Its switchable between level 1 and level 3 I believe with a little remote control.

There's one more thing you need to do to increase your enjoyment of the car - sort out the driving position and steering wheel. I fitted a 320mm wheel on a 100mm spacer (yes really) and it transformed the driving experience.

Stunning, paintwork looks immaculate. Would you say this is the original paint from factory?

I’m not an expert but it looks original to me, certainly immaculate.

And yes it’s already got a Momo suede wheel.

I might add a spacer as you suggest though, the long arms, short legs thing is very Italian!
