Thoughts appreciated on this in terms of buying vs not buying and resale, in terms of history and options.

Would be my first Ferrari. Do you think they’d be open to independent inspection, or given the market do I go in at £120k and get it inspected and spend £10k getting it spot on?

Bonus question - how will it work with my iPhone for calls and music? - not bothered about carplay.

Thanks in advance.

I’d go for the one at JCT600 Leeds for 5k more and lower mileage. Has the benefit of the sports seats and of course the Ferrari backed warranty. Not sure about your music as my 488 pista has car play

Very good points. Lovely interior on that.

It's not a bad spec and the price is reasonable. As already said, race seats are nice to have but that's a personal choice.

The 488 has Bluetooth so you can pair your phone and upload contacts list, etc. WRT playing music, you can use the bluetooth link with your media player (I use Black Player) or you can connect via the USB port.

I would just be concerned at 5+ owners at the JCT600, but guess getting the Ferrari 2 year warranty should negate that.
Just seems a lot of owners compared to the ops original car at only 2 owners.

I went to look at this a couple of months ago. The dealer has a lot of cars and didn’t move this one out for me, so if you’re going make sure you book an appointment and ask them to show you the car. From memory it looked tidy and does seem like good value.

Hi All

sorry to hijack the thread.. First Ferrari purchase here and I ended up going for the Grigio 488 GTB from JCT600 Leeds mentioned above (with the many owners! wink )

As suggested above I have gone with the spec (I wanted grey or silver) and comfort of 2 year Ferrari warranty. the owners are high but I feel this was reflected fairly in the price, plus JCT 600 Leeds have bought sold and serviced this car for the past 6 years or so (some nice margin from one car considering how many time sits been in and out). I figured they wouldn't take in and resell a car they knew to be a dud!

Collecting on Monday and looking forward to it! I spent a day with a very generous friend's 488 Challenge at Donington however I have never driven this or indeed any Ferrari on the road before...

Roll on Monday!

We 450's are a select few. lol Mine came about as a result of owning a very rare Evo V1 RS450 Extreme. How about you?

Car looks great in that colour.

If it comes with a Ferrari warranty, I’d suggest the number of owners is irrelevant. The car is clearly ‘up to standard’ or else they wouldn’t warranty it.

Another thing, if it has been an AUC on a number of occasions, it’s been brought up to standard each time.

Thanks all for the comments, much appreciated! I was a
Little apprehensive as I’m normally inclined towards working on my own cars. In this case I’m certainly going to leave it to the dealer.

I narrowly missed out (by one bid) on CC on an mp12, my bid £57k sold at £58k, which did seem incredible value. I did a little more research afterwards and decided I probably dodged a bullet based on the typical maintenance costs on these.

next minute I was looking at 360’s in the classifieds (as I have been for years!!), again out bid on a silver spider on CC. That turned into 430’s, then, “ I wonder how much 458’s are”
And then this popped up with the comfort of a warranty.

Typical classified surfing ‘mission creep’😂😂

Current plan is to keep it for maybe 1 and half years then sell with 6 months warranty left. After that I quite fancy a 360….

Beautiful car - I think these are a real sweet spot in the Ferrari range. Comfort of the warranty is a huge peace of mind and buying from the dealer should mean you get invited to lots of Ferrari events - they do this so well you won’t ever want to move away from the brand! Enjoy the car.

A very nice silver 488 you have, there.

Regarding the MP12 4C comment, wouldn't a £2.5k annual warranty largely mitigate those maintenance concerns/ costs?

I did, and still do fancy an mp12 at some point maybe. But looking at the reviews, including Thorney
Motorsport (who I would certainly use to service), the vast majority of issues would not be covered. Ie bodywork corrosion, suspension leaks etc. also my experience with 3rd party warranties suggests they really aren’t worth the paper they are written on.

Ref an mp12 or similar M car, I came to the conclusion that CC is not the place to buy one, rather, better spending the extra £15-20k at Thorney for one of their (in house) warranted cars.
