Morning all,

I’ve had a deposit on a car for a few weeks, just waiting for some sticky buttons to be sorted.

When I viewed, the service history book was missing a number of services. The dealer (not main dealer) assured me that the car had a number more services just not in the book - it still has the remainder of a power 15 warranty and was sold by a main dealer in 2023.

Ferrari have tracked the services and have provided a list of all the services. The car is a September 2010. It doesn’t have a 2011 services, its first is a Feb 2012 - not sure if this matters? It also appears that it didn’t have a service in 2020 but presumably that was Covid as was serviced very early 2021. When it was sold in 2023 it was sold to the current owner as a full service vehicle but Ferrari didn’t actually service it in 2023 before its sale.

I’ve spoken to the main dealer, they have said it would be classed as ‘full history’ and ‘shouldn’t’ affect any warranty. In terms of resale (no plans to, but, life happens) is this likely to be a huge problem?

Cheers

Ryan

- should just add it’s a 458!

Has there been a service since 'early 2021' ? They seem to be alternate year oil changes currently almost justifying the many owners who are a little leisurely on the annual service idea

Also is dealer happy to make comments contractual ?

So there has been services yearly apart from the ones above. It’s just had a service earlier this month too.

If it was fine to be a Ferrari approved car back in 2023 I’m assuming you should be ok

I think it will be ok if Ferrari say it’s ok. And the Power15 warranty is a good sign.

You might rule out a few future buyers when you come to sell, as you won’t have a perfect history. If the car hits the spot in every other detail then I would go for it.

My experience of this is as above; if Ferrari are content to put the warranty on it, the car will be fine.

But .. if you’re asking these questions, any prospective buyers when you come to sell will ask similar questions. It might make the car more tricky to move on. Something to think about.
