Hi all,

Chucking my Pista on a ferry in around 12 hours. It's just now occured to me I'm not entirely certain how to disable the alarm for the crossing, as it can sometimes get rough and I do not enjoy the idea of a dead car on the other side.

I understand that there are two options.

1) Hit the button the on overhead panel - I believe this disables the motion sensor despite being called "anti-lift", perhaps they're the same thing, perhaps they're not - just making sure.

2) Manually lock the door with the key.

Can anyone confirm these will work for these purposes and if they apply to the Pista (particularly no.2!), or if there's something else I may need to do.

Will also call my dealer in the AM.

Thanks

I was going to suggest this ^^^

Nobody is going to try and get in it. Just don't leave anything on display in it.

On my last Le Mans trip we went from Portsmouth to Cherbourg and there were a couple of Pista's in our group.

I think pretty much everyone just locked their cars with the key and that was it. someone who didn't (not in our group), alarmed their car and by the time we arrived in Cherbourg had a flat battery.

Make of that what you will.

Not a Pista but put my 458 on the ferry to spain, did what you did, button in roof lock with Key. Fully expected a flat battery on return but all good

Completely not alarm related, but I’m putting my 488 on a ferry in June. Spoke to the ferry company and they are arranging for it to go with the lorries and motor homes to avoid steep ramps and also to have wider lane to park in.

Yes. Brittany ferries always put my Ferrari with the trucks. Usually means last on but first off.

This is my experience with DFDS. Specify a low clearance vehicle and it'll go on the truck deck. An added bonus is that there wont be a hundred people trying to squeeze past it on the rush to a: the bar and best cafe seats, b: back to their cars with flailing bags of so called duty free.

That gives me genuine anxiety even in a normal car.

Left it unlocked, all good on battery front!

re clearance etc, was on a Brittany ferry, car went in on the bottom deck, but the Porsches all got shunted on the top deck, bearing in mind they were all RS stuff, the owners weren't super keen but c'est la vie.
