Thoughts on these 488's
Discussion
I've been considering purchasing one of these two and would welcome any feedback from those in the know.
I realise the Rosso Corsa one is a tad leggy, but since this purchase is likely to be a keeper, it is not a major consideration.

I'm probably opening myself to whole load of grief here but there's a button marked 'Turbo' on the dash. Wot does that do then, overboost?
It's the controls for the left digital display. The turbo button shows various info about the status of the turbo. It’s good to see more and more higher mileage Ferraris out there, both 488s and 458s - people are finally getting over the view that once past 9,500 miles they become worthless and actually driving them.
Good luck with the car change - I actually went the other way and sold my 488 and bought and R8 v10, but both great cars.

Thank you for the well wishes. Yes these cars were made to be driven, it's just a pity that they are still so price-sensitive to mileage.Good luck with the car change - I actually went the other way and sold my 488 and bought and R8 v10, but both great cars.
Enjoy the R8.
I love the Grigio Silverstone car, but I am biased as on my second Although I have to admit the interior is a bit dark and those brake discs need a look at, they look a bit rough in the photo.
I don't know that dealer, so no idea on their reputation.
What is is with main dealers showing photos of cars with errors, or just not up to standard, seems very lazy to me.

I would go for the Grigio Silverstone one personally, it has a lot of the carbon packages on it (if that’s your thing). I’d ask the dealer if they can arrange an inspection at Ferrari so you can put a warranty on it if you want. The red one looks like it’s had the front spoiler painted black (I could be wrong) plus the wheels. On the plus side it’s from Maranello. As someone has said the red one is a bit leggy.

I spoke to the dealer with the Grigio car about having an inspection done at Ferrari, and he was dead against it. Something along the lines of, "as soon as they know it's our car they will tear it apart". They are, however, more than happy for me to arrange a PPI to be done at their premises. The Rosso Corsa one has indeed had the front splitter either painted or wrapped, but the wheels are factory done.
If its truly a keeper then I would buy the red car; purely subjective as I think there is something iconic about a red Ferrari (hence all 5 of my Ferraris have been red, despite trying to talk myself into several black ones). The other benefit of the red one is that it will come with 2 years warranty.
I have had mine about 3 months and absolutely love it! The carbon seats are fantastic too!

Totally agree, I’d run a mile from any dealer who says they’d rather you didn’t have it inspected by a Ferrari dealer. I’ve just bought a 488 Spider from HR Owen but was considering another from an independent dealer who was welcome to an inspection from a Ferrari dealer, they even offered to arranged the warranty extension for me through Gray Paul. Some independent dealers like DK actually have tie ups with Ferrari finance which allow them to offer finance on their cars.
So I suppose what I’m saying is buying outside of the Ferrari network is totally doable, just make sure it’s a good one!
