So, I just can’t make my mind up! Originally I was going to buy a 458 (I had a 458 a couple of years ago and loved it), but as the 488’s have come down in price I started looking at them as it would be nice to have something different. I’ve never had a Lambo and love the look of the Huracan, so have been toying with one of those. Then, finally, with a small amount of budget creep I started to consider a 600LT as I love the way it looks (I’ve not owned a McLaren before).

It’s an occasional use car, I won’t do many miles and I’m not terribly bothered about which is the fastest (as frankly they are all faster than I will use).

Which would you buy and why?

Having driven the cars you mention and now owning a 458 coupe and 600 LT Spider the latter is my favourite.

Try to get a Spider if you can as they suffer no scuttle shake due to carbon tub and you can drop back window or the roof and listen to those top mounted exhaust.

For me the 600 has an old school vibe about it and it’s a fun car though the 458 is one of the most fun supercars at legal speeds you can buy, apart from 812 I just found the 488 and F8 boring to drive at legal speeds and the steering was not good.

600 LT has amazing steering so engaging and perfectly weighted and the whole car feels alive and whenever I take my 600 to a car meet or general public event people flock at the McLaren simply because it’s so rare compared to a Ferrari or Lamborghini, out of all cars I’ve owned it’s gets most positive reaction.

You need go drive them all and buy what you prefer but zero regrets with my 600 LT so far and it’s been reliable but the McLaren warranty is far superior to the Ferrari warranty FYI.

No car is a bad choice but go test drive them all and buy what is right for you.

600 LT Spider from that bunch unless further budget creep gets you into a performante.
Huracans improved massively during their lifespan but early ones were a tad disappointing.
Mclaren better bang for your buck at £150k

How reliable do people find the 488? I had spoken to a couple of dealers who say they are really reliable, but they aren’t going to tell me they are nothing but trouble!

Does much go wrong that wouldn’t be covered by the ferrari power15 warranty? The list of items covered doesn’t look terribly lengthy!

Turbo seals, odd gearbox issues though latter is rare.

I saw a couple of posts of turbo issues, but seem to be mainly pistas. Did the standard 488 turbos also have issues? They aren’t on the items covered by the Ferrari power15
warranty. Any ideas as to the cost of fix if needed?
