So as the weather has now got the point that the 355 will be sat in hibernation for a few months, I had a quick question around trickle charging.

I’ve taken the side panel off in the engine bay to hook the Ctek charger up to the battery points behind it, but after browsing a few places, some seem to recommend hooking it up to the actual battery itself, surely this makes no difference though? Hoping it doesn’t as it’s a bit of a faff to get to the battery.

Had mine wired in engine bay with CTEK late summer and all good. Better than the cigarette lighter I think

depends on the amount of connections between the battery and the point of contact. closer to the battery easier it is to do without any odd connections in the way. If struggling to get to the battery, wire in connections to the battery and run to a cable from there to the easiest point of connection, and fit a non reversable plug socket. Ensure that you fit an inline fuse on the '+' lead as near to the battery as you can.

The connector for the ctek charger on mine is wired to the battery contacts in the engine bay and I’ve had no issues with trickle charging whatsoever

If you want to do a proper job hethelsport sell a nicely made DIY kit to install a magnetic CTEK connector in your car. (Like the one that comes standard on the 488)

https://hethelsport.com/tools/charger-connection-k...

(But as an answer to an earlier question, cigarette lighter is fine as long as it has constant power)

We have the same set up as this, look exactly the same, and have done for a number of years working fine.
