My 458 has a Novitec exhaust without cats and dare I say it, it might be too loud! I have enjoyed it but am considering putting the OEM cats back on and running the rest of the system. Clearly I was trying to get more natural noise from it but wanted to know if anyone had run something similar and found it made things better with but with a less anti social vibe?

Previous to this I had plugged the vacuum lines but found it to be quite monotone hence the upgrade. I now have an exhaust valve controller, which I would be keeping, but given the expense of putting the cats back I didn’t want to just do it without finding out if this was a pointless exercise. I was told at the time that not doing the Cat delete would be disappointing but now wonder if this was the salesman upgrading me. Would be interested to hear your thoughts please

I have the same setup and love it. Its literally as quiet as a Micra with the valves closed, even with no cats.

Why dont you try some 200 cell cats? I think it would disappoint with the standard OEM cats back in place.

Might be a good idea to be honest, I think the OEM are 800 cell which is quite a lot of deadening.

That’s right, they are 800.
200 supposed to a good step up but not full on decat volume.

Can I ask where you sourced the novice from - I'm wanting to do the same thing, have pulled valves at the moment.

thanks

May I ask how you're finding the valves pulled? Loud enough? I'm thinking of going this route first.

HI yes it is loud enough - i get lots of pops and bangs too (2014 spider). Mate of mine has an 812 with a novitec - its off the scale, not loudness but it just sings a tune!

He just means setting them to always open, it’s a cheaper way to do it without a valve controller.

Hi yes - it’s a diy no lift needed took me around 40 mins. You need to plug the valves too - YouTube it normalguysupercar has a good video on his channel. I followed that.
