Yes, you read that right.

I had a temporary insanity state and I bought this

It was an adventure, as it was 200 miles form home and, again in a state of insanity, I decided to, "drive her home", ...... 200 miles

This is me laughing at the fact that she was like driving a 1930's Bus.

Primarily the AirCon didn't work, so my son's method of cooling was this

The roof leaked, ½ the buttons didn't work, reverse was, "touch and go", the tyres were old, and no matter if the AirCon was off or on, and the fan was on cold or hot, the fans blew, "Hot".

Having said all of that, the wife and I laughed all the way home as the steering wheel was so stiff, it was a 2 person drive, she had to count down to the round-about to give me warning as to when to turn.

We laughed and laughed and laughed

Could not have enjoyed it more.

Will update when we decide what parts we will work on and get fixed ..... she made it home though and I slept well that night. Have now joined a gym to get ready to turn the steering wheel......

When are you getting it blown-over in Nero?

Interesting question.

At this moment, I don't know what I'm doing, I think she will stay Red, but the inside is fair game, black carpets with black leather.

I just don't know

Any idea how much of that is because it needs work to get it back to how it should be, and how much because it’s an 80s Ferrari?

did you get any equally smiling faces of the bloke who sold it to you?

an itch thats got to be scratched, enjoy.

I've always found the rarer, more exclusive the marque, the more flack you tend to get as the owner, ( so called experts : "not that model, not that colour, it's not a proper xxxx" etc ) ignore them and enjoy it.

Strangely I was at Festival Italia a couple of weekends ago and thought the Mondial is starting to look quite cool, ageing really well.

I used a Mondial t as my London daily 20 years ago. Really good cars. Never thought they were ugly. (The t had power steering which made it very everyday usable).

I think the gearbox is heavy and the steering even heavier, if the gearbox can be eased, then I think we are mostly there. Yes, it needs work, but its more 80's engineering than anything else.

That was the odd thing, the guy was my age (late 50's) and wanted to go hiking with his wife. His wife didn't like the attention the red car brought and he had it in the garage for years. So she persuaded him to sell it. The paper worked checked out that he had had it that long with huge gaps in MOT history (I checked a lot)

When the money was transferred, he stared at the keys, and his voice started cracking when I started it up and drove it out of his drive. My wife noticed it. It wasn't even taking up space, he could have kept it ...... IDK

My wife would completely disagree, but I would argue that all my best moves and bits of life have come from moments of stunningly daft insanity.

Well played that chap!

There's a Dutch crew who do loads of older Ferraris - no doubt someone will remember their name
