Hi, looking to get my 458 out for the odd track day over the winter - anyone have experience of what they make on a static and drive-by meter at any UK circuits?

Many thanks
Simon

I’ve done Donington in my stock 458 which is 98Db drive by and I had no issues.

Thanks for sharing - that’s good to know and makes me
feel there’s some hope of doing some days in the car here!

I’m planning on taking my 458 to a track or two as well. I’m very sure it would fail Bedford Autodrome’s noise restrictions as my Giulia QV failed that with the valves open. There’s no way (short of a Forza controller) to drive the 458 hard without the valves opening, even in wet mode it opens the vales at some stage. I do have a cheeky map of where the microphones are at Bedford, you just need to strategically back off in a couple of places.

You do of course have the same issue with microphones at Goodwood but their position is not hidden. In fact on one visit (in the 458) I was called in and given a black dot on the windscreen (which means behave, noise wise, or else!). The marshals were very good about it. They told me which noise monitors I was triggering and suggested short shifting just before them which I did and had no further problems. In fact I would add to that that the marshals at Goodwood are great and will do everything in their power to make sure you can run and enjoy yourself.
