Has anyone removed the valves to make the exhaust louder on an F8. I did it on my 430's and 360's from memory but don't know if it's possible on the F8. As is widely commented on the exhaust is muted on the F8 I'm looking for all options without spending a fortune or voiding warranty.

Cheers

I thought it was the turbo's that effectively mute it, although when I drove one it sounded fine to me.

If its an issue for you, I'll do you a straight swap for my 360 with a CS exhaust wink

Car will throw a CEL warning, unless you get a 3rd party valve controller.

Spider is better, you can just drop the rear window.

Sadly the F8 sounds absolutely pants stock.
If anything spider is worse IMHO as too much wind noise to notice exhaust.

Scuderia systems offer best solution with sports cats which unleashes the potential. Not cheap at £12k when I enquired but worth every penny to give the car some soul

My friendly local Fez dealer said it wouldn't void the warranty "in their eyes" and they would still process any claims aa normal plus it could easily be put back to stock pre audit.
Depends on your relationship with them I guess

I'm not sure it will throw a light, I have done it with 430 a 430 scud a 360 Manual and a 458 and none have been an issue. Oh and thinking about it 2 Aventadors and no issue there.
I have the spider so will report back when it stops raining.

TBH I'm not sure it sounds that bad and certainly when your are "on it" it sounds fine. Just on tick over it sounds a little under stated! Just looking for a cheap mod!

Apparently, the F8 checks for actual valve operation and can't be fooled by unplugging the lines.

I think Xbox is correct. Lots of discussion on this issue on fchat. It’s the first V8 mid engine Fcar to have GPFs (to satisfy latest euro emissions) and from what I’ve read the only way to modify the exhaust without throwing error messages is to have an error cancelling OBDII device plugged in.

What a lot of faff and possibly warranty voiding nonsense to make it sound not as good as an F430. Or am I being too harsh here?

It may not be fashionable to say it but the 296GTB sounds better at least on the Ferrari studio videos. I've driven the F8 and well actually I can't remember how it sounded. Only a one hour test drive but still.

Harsh, no not really.

At least the v12's still sound right.

I struggle to find middle ground, F8 is quiet enough to be a GT, Lambo has me reaching for 2x Anadin.
