My 1st Ferrari - 488GTB
Discussion
I agreed a deal on this car just before Xmas and waiting to get it transported early in the New Year, to say I am excited would be a huge understatement. I am moving on from a LP560 which I loved, but this is in another league. Hoping to do lots with the car this year as long as COVID rules don't curtail play. I had been looking for a while but once I saw this post on PH I was down like a rocket to take a look over...it was love at 1st sight as that Rosso Fuoco paint is stunning in the flesh. The car is immaculate and very well specified, just itching to get it home now!

Looks great. Just wondering, if you really want to get it, why don’t you just go and collect it and drive it back?
They are shut until the New Year, and its easier to transport than me travelling 200 miles to collect. Edited by jdwoodbury on Wednesday 29th December 07:57

That spec is immense !!! Congratulations !!
I think these 488 (aside those crashed on the side of a tree in Belfast) look really decent value.. it's been done to death but vs the F8 on our roads i think the 488 will give you most of what you really can enjoy.. and will be enough car for most of the ppl anyways.. and dare i say it.. i prefer the looks !
enjoy it and take it on proper roads I implore you, best road trips I've ever done were in my Speciale down in Europe on some decent roads in the Alps. They do deserve and they do come alive down there

I did spend some time looking at the F8 but if I am honest I struggle with the looks a little, it’s very busy at the back and I am not keen on the wheel design…that said it’s an epic car and looks will most likely grow on me, also being the last mid-engine V8 it could well be a future classic.

I actually like the way it looks especially the back and lexan rear window. Far nicer than the 488 IMHOMy issue with it is, it sounds absolute pants but a novitec exhaust and downpipe at £15k could sort that i guess.
Not sure how sought after the F8 will become as last V8. Its got an amazing engine with zero turbo lag and smaller volumes than a 458 so its got to stay above 458.
488 seems to sit firmly in nowhere land and will become forgotten child

I love the F8. I think the rear lights work better than the 488. I like the wheels too. I drove this one, awesome colour too. If I had the money, I would have bought it on the spot.
