So, hopefully going to get a Cali T and i like the look of this one, https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/12513095 I want to spend sub 100K and will be financing the majority of it, I would welcome peoples thoughts. Is it hard to get a Ferrari powers warranty? does the car need inspecting before you can get a warranty? I was going to join the Ferrari owners club, but it says you need to own, or have owned a Ferrari to join. Anyway, all comments welcomed (Hopefully).

Probably a daft question but have you had a look at what's available via the dealer network ? I suspect that you may find a very similar car at a not too dissimilar price !

Typically if you buy from a ferrari main dealer the car would automatically come with a 2 year power warranty (unless things have changed). If you buy from an independant and want to put a Ferrari warranty on it I'm pretty sure you'll have to pay for an inspection as part of that process. It's also worth noting that the warranty is fairly limited. Had one on my California and found it pretty useless as it only really covers major component failure (engine/gearbox etc)

As for joining the FOC....if you're in the Yorkshire area there is a very active group so I'd highly recommend it. You can normally save more than the annual fee in free tickets for events and special offers with suppliers. I'm sure some of the other regional groups are good but I can only speak from experience of the Yorkshire one.

If you do go for it then hope you enjoy and drive it as much as you can. I've had my California for a few years now and still wouldn't change it.

no problem buying the warranty (power train after 4 years manufacturer warranty is approx £2.8 from memory) but car does need to be checked by ferrari first.

Thanks chaps, never thought of looking through the dealer network, ive only looked on pistonheads and autotrader, think my nearest dealer will be Newcastle, I live near Whitby in North Yorkshire.

Don't just stick with the local area, well worth looking further afield. I did see though that JCT Leeds have a nice looking Grigio Silverstone Cali T at the moment. Lower mileage than the one you were looking at and only about 5k more. That would though include Ferrari warranty so would work out much the same overall at the end of the day based on the cost per year of the warranty.

The one at JCT also has the carbon steering wheel with LED's which the other one doesnt !

JCT in Leeds always have a regular flow of cars through their books. Currently have this Grigio T for just under £100K

Is there any particular reason you were drawn to that car OP?

It seems to have a low spec from what I saw, high ish miles, is an early Cali T (2015) and would most likely not come with any meaningful warranty.

There really is no shortage of UK registered RHD California T's so you don't have to hurry as there are plenty of very good cars out there.

It may make sense to keep looking.

Adding Ferrari power warranty to a car that does not have it for 2 years, including the 2 inspections (as you can only buy year by year from what I recall you can't buy 2 years warranty without having an inspection in between although there is a discount on year 2 if you don't claim in year 1) and any potential work you would have to have done on basis of those inspections will cost you more than 5K IMO.

That's if you insist on the Ferrari warranty of course, plenty of people do run their cars without it, but of course that's up to you and there's no right or wrong answer.

See below for the current warranty details on a V8, note prices include VAT and inspection. Any Ferrari dealer will send you a PDF of the full brochure including terms if you want to review. Main thing I noted was that Turbo's were not included....
