Thoughts on this 488....
Discussion
Never driven or owned a Ferrari, however had the pleasure of owning the following 991 Turbo S, AMG GTC, Bentley GT, SL63, R8 etc but always wanted a Ferrari...
What do you reckon of the spec/price?
Is there anything missing of the spec list which is "needed"?
Worth biting the bullet?, really apprehensive as it will be the most expensive car Iv ever bought...
Also what do you think the dealer would sell at?

Bought a few cars off Graypaul Edinburgh… Sytner had tightened their discounting this year and certainly up until a few weeks ago you would struggle to get a couple of grand off a car that hadn’t been in stock for a month or so. Their finance is also the most expensive of UK dealers (might not be a consideration I appreciate).
Nice car. Some would prefer race seats, but standards very comfortable and spacious cabin/plenty legroom with full electrics. If bothered, standard hi-fi is tragic; personally I wouldn’t be without the upgraded JBL in the 488 (much improved over 458 system).
Apart from that, the missing rear carbon vents are the only big miss. You could likely negotiate these in with the deal. The standards look so plasticity; very rare to see a non carbon spec in this area of the car.
Anyway my 488 Spider was the second best car I’ve ever owned and I much preferred it to the two 458’s I previously owned.
Enjoy your buying experience…. Have a word with Zach in Edinburgh and he’ll look after you.

Good price compared with current (IMO a bit overprices) main dealer prices for 488's.
It has all the interior carbon fiber, Scuderia shields, yellow calipers which would be a must for me.
Doesn't appear to have front+rear camera though? At least I didn't see it listed. That's one of the few options I would really look for, especially if you intend on using the car even semi regularly in the warmer months and/or will park in a city center at some point, you would really want to have the camera.
The suspension lifter is also very good to have for the peace of mind it gives you I think. Not needed 98% of the time, but those one or two times a year when you would need it, you will be very glad it's there!
Other than that the rosso corsa+crema and the red carpets too I would assume may have been factored into the price here. Of course it's all a matter of taste and tastes will always vary but for me personally the combination is quite dated. To me this combo here has really not aged so well and has a very 80's look to it. Of course on the flip side of that coin there are a lot of people who would never even consider a nero daytona 488 as they would class the colour as 'boring' and not best suited to a supercar. Would be a dull world if we all liked the same things...

Nothing wrong with crema IMHO - 2/3 and soon 3/4 of my cars have it - though this one has quite a lot of it and the original purchaser will have specified some parts of the car which would normally be black to be crema as well, door cappings, A pillars and more, gone overboard a bit. The Daytona strips, stitching and horse are nice contrasts IMHO. Picture shows my F8 Spider which is more restrained, but each to their own.
Opinion varies as to whether you need the front axle lift. Depending on where you live and where you drive, you will scuff the underside of the front spoiler. The lift helps you reduce how often that happens. When my 488 goes in for service, the video review always points this out with an irritating tone as if I have been abusing the car. You know what? I’ve been driving it! The worse grounding I’ve had so far was in Esher of all places.
I agree about the CF around the lights. For me, CF becomes more important the higher up the car - and therefore touchable, visible - it is. This has the side vents, the rears can be retro-fitted, from memory £2-£3k or a negotiation point. Worse case, you could have them spray painted satin black instead of the grey plastic pretending to be metal look.
I also agree the basic sound system is poor, I have the JBL in another car and it’s night and day different.
I feel certain you will enjoy a 488, I love mine.
