Yellow F355 Spider for sale
Discussion
Hello everyone, considering adding a 355 to the collection and not impartial to a yellow spider. Personally I like the contrast with the black challenger rear grille etc but each to their own. This example fits the bill but would appreciate people's thought. I understand these are easily clocked. I note from the MOT database it's basically only done about 150 Miles each year since it was last purchased in 2003 but has been serviced every year at Foskers! I like the carbon cills - are they stock or aftermarket? Looks to suffer from poor plastics but happy to resolve. In some ways it's a shame it hasn't been driven much but on the flip side it's been serviced every year regardless which is better than some others I've seen..

The carbon sills will not be original. However, they are probably a benefit because the sills rust quite readily, although they are easily replaced.
I don't recall ever seeing the Cavallinos stitched on the seat backs like that before although I can't imagine they have been added later.
As I'm sure you know, the sticky plastic is more-or-less age-related and doesn't reflect how a car has been looked after.
9 owners but since, as the blurb tells you, the current owner has had it for 17 years, the previous 8 were stacked into the first seven years.

Bob Houghton is local to the Motor Hub and if they have prepped the car, that’s a good design. I have a manual Berlinetta and it’s been looked after by them for years. I know the F1 has its devotees but the manual change and that open gate is very special, a little bit reluctant going into second when cold but otherwise, it really adds to the experience.
I replaced my sill plates with after market carbon ones. The old ones trapped water and rusted away. Peeling them off reminded me of those old tins of fish with a key…
I used StickyNoMore to refurbish the controls and I wish I had gone further and done the air vents as well. I changed from Fahrenheit to Celsius with the HVAC laminate and at the same time bought a metric pair of temperature and oil pressure gauges on eBay.
The car benefits hugely from being driven though I only put mine on the road for the summer months. It would be interesting to know what extra maintenance this car has needed in the way of oil seals through its extreme lack of use. I can’t get my brain around having a car like this and only driving 150 miles a year.
Enjoy it if you decide to buy…

This all over. When I bought my F430 the inspection revealed a possible leak from a seal on the thrust/release bearing which is not a cheap fix. Cleaned it up and advised to run it for a few hundred miles and take it back to be rechecked, if more leakage then probably time to raid the piggy bank. Thankfully it was fine but it was a sharp reminder that these cars need to be used as things dry out, crack and leak. if you arent worry about selling on in the future then yellow fine, but i would say its quite marmite colour but i reckon it would be somewhere near the bottom of colours that people would pick..... i have a blue one as i dont like red but i would have red one in front of yellow any day of the week, but if you arent intending to sell then dont worry but personally i wouldn't..... obviously all my personal opinion
