488 Spider remote roof opening?

I’ve seen a few videos which appears to show the roof able to open remotely. I am not sure if this is a function or just filmed with someone crouching down inside!

A few US sites show that there is a mod to enable this. I’ve found an old video of my car which shows it opening (with the engine on) remotely, if it did have this mod any ideas on how it would work?

Ahead of them (hopefully) replying does anybody know what the combination of buttons on the fob is to activate it?

Might be car dependent, but on McLaren's I believe you press the unlock button on the fob 3 times to lower the roof.

OP asked how remote opening worked.
Somebody posted a link to Smarttop.
OP asked how to open the roof remotely with Smarttop.
I told him how it's done on McLaren.

With a Smart Top module on a R172 SLK it is three presses on the key fob with a 1to 2 second pause between presses. You need to ask a Smart Top installer how it would work for your car.

You can choose exactly how you want the Smart Top commands to work if you install it yourself Eg how many button presses, whether you want the windows and/or the rear window to drop with the roof or not........it's fairly easy to do yourself.

I've ordered one for my F8 Spider - I expect very similar to the 488 Spider - and will post my installlation/user experience here. I've also sent them a message asking if they expect to support the 812 GTS.
