A simple question to those of you who have one of these cars. If you go to a petrol station and fill normally - say to the first click of the pump - does the fuel gauge then read full - all display segments lit?

I know it can be that the car is difficult to fill but nevertheless, it should be possible to fill it completely.

My car is behaving as if the gauge thinks there is less fuel than there actually is. The last segment of the display never lights and the amount of fuel you can put in from an in-danger-of running-out situation is much less than the tank capacity. My 488 does not have the same problem.

My Pista does this as well, try holding the petrol nozzle at a 90 degree angle - this seems to work for me and the pump will only click once the tank is full.

Weird, my Gallardo is exactly the same. I didn’t think it would be relevant to Ferraris so I didn’t post, but perhaps it’s an Italian thing. Definitely helps to brim the tank if you hold the trigger/nozzle at right angles. Hope it works for you.

I can never get my 360 to show full on the fuel gauge, the dealer warned me "they all do that sir"

In ~6 years, ~15k miles - I think I managed it once.

My 812 needs a certain angle of fuel nozzle for it to avoid clicking . On the brimming issue it doesn't affect me as i can't afford to fill it in one go.

I’m still yet to perfect my angle of the dangle……

Its a very fine margin between getting it spot-on and wrong. I'm taking a Protractor ruler with me next time i'm refueling the 812.

Filled up my F8 few times now and all bars lit , no problems, have found if the pump is inserted all the way it tends to cut off while filling so have the nozzle slightly out ..but registers full on mine

Thank you, going to fill up on Friday and will tell the dealer to sort it if I cannot reasonably fill the tank. I expect replacing the fuel level sensor is not the work of a moment. As I said, my 488 is fine and I doubt there’s a huge difference between the two. I’ll look at the parts list to check for commonality. If I was Ferrari looking to produce an updated car, changing the fuel tank etc would be unlikely to feature on my to-do list.

Same, all bars lit..... but doesn't take long to drop when you have the turbo's howling rotate
