TPMS Sensor lifetime

I need to change out 2016 vintage Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres (OEM fitment) on the 488. I will go with the Pilot Super Sport 4S. Any recommendation on fitters? I have emailed BlackBoots in Amersham, as they are well recommended.

What to I do about the TPMS sensors, what is the average life time. Any one have them fail yet ? It would be a shame to have the tyres off then the batteries in the sensors fail shortly afterwards.

usually the sensor goes dormant until used as the size of the battery fitted is small so if was constantly on would drain in short order.

The way it was explained to me is a car doing 30k a year battery may last 4-5 years plus. A car that’s used occasionally will last far longer
