It is really refreshing to hear Chris Harris's view about owning a Ferrari that is not too valuable to use and abuse.

I think it looks lovely and ignoring maintenance costs great VFM. That cream interior I love, just adds to the summer appeal.

I saw this too, a great watch. Didn't know this is the only 4 seat mid engined convertible ever made! That looks to be a much better example above very nice!

So not a surprise that yours is better than his then wink

There are several 328 GTS' for sale right now that I suspect are better than mine.

Thing is, they're all £80K~£100K

I paid £48.5K for mine back in March - And I bet the eventual owners of the £80K ~ £100K cars won't be having 1.6 ~ 2 times as much fun as I do in mine.

In fact, I suspect that with most of them, the owners won't be having any fun in theirs, because they will be parked up, waiting for the market to rise once more.

Mine is a bit like a 328 version of Harris' Mondial - She's not perfect, she's got a few marks on the paint due to being used, I've had a couple of issues that I've had to sort out (the latest of which is a weeping radiator), and she's got some miles under her belt (in Ferrari terms, where buyers see 30K miles as high mileage, at 83K miles she should be on her 3rd engine rebuildrolleyes ).

As with Harris' Mondial, the fact that she's not perfect makes her so much more usable. I'm not going to worry about driving her due to the mileage, or due to worrying about the paint - I'll do exactly what Enzo Ferrari wanted people to do with his cars: Drive it and enjoy it cool

Why are Ferrari owners afraid to drive their cars? How can you not given how addictive they are? My previous F430 owner did 700 miles in 2.5 years, I’ve just done 3000 in just under 4 months. Am I an anomaly?

I have a lovely blue Modial T coming up for auction soon on The Market. It’s got 68k miles and I’ve never worried about it not performing perfectly as it’s been regularly used. I’ve also not had to worry about putting miles on the car as it’s not a low mile princess. We have taken it on Euro trips to Tuscany and I’ve actually enjoyed adding miles and driving a Ferrari through Italy.

I think of it a bit like using a bicycle. If I go to the garage and I haven’t used the bike for 6 months it’s bound to have a flat tyre and rusty chain. However, if I had used it the day before it will be less likely to need attention. That does make sense to me anyway!

I bought an extremely tidy 3.4 Coupe in the teens about ten years ago, had doubled by the time I sold it. Very underrated cars.
