Been thinking on the best position for a four digit numberplate on the front of a 488 Spider confused Has anyone used these ?? https://www.italiansupercarsolutions.co.uk/shop/Fe...

Ferrari dealer i'm collecting from is not keen, they want to mount at the top of bumper which in my opinion doesn't look great.

Be grateful if anyone else has any good ideas??

I haven’t used this one, but it looks fine. Certainly better than mounting on top of bumper.

Have this very thing and just sold my 488 Spider yesterday so was just about to stick on eBay in next day or two.
Been great for my 5 digit smaller four dot front plate and going to get similar for my incoming 812.
If you want to see any pics or buy, just drop me a pm.

I'm planning on switching my 488GTB for a 812SF by Autumn so really interested how you sold your 488 Spider. Was it px or did you get a much better deal by selling it yourself.

I have this one (used from eBay) which looks like the same thing.... https://www.supertweaks.com/ferrari/ferrari-licenc...

Plate position is pretty much as per the pictures and can be put on or removed in a few seconds. Have a picture somewhere I could email to you.

Hi hard work,

Yes highly recommended I bought one from them recently, can be clipped on and off in seconds if you wish to.

The metal mounting plate is quite a bit smaller than a full size plate, so you could easily use a 3/4 plate or similar without the mount showing.

Just do what everyone else does and don’t put a front number plate on.

In the end I sold back to the supplying main dealer. They are so desperate for known, well specified cars I was offered a very strong outright purchase price (about £9k more than I was offered 4 weeks ago and £12k more than 2 months ago), which tells you where the market is. I may have got a bit more if I’d SOR with them but just wanted a clean cash sale. Also, it’s as good a time as any to sell a Spider, although for the first time in a long while I was quite emotional on letting it go. The best car I’ve ever had.......
There seems a huge difference in what the main dealers in different parts of the country will bid, but in the end I’d have been very surprised if I could have got more than £5-8k more as a private sale and I’m embarrassed enough to admit it’s wasn’t worth the effort/hassle for that amount.

I had exactly the same dilemma. I went with a small, custom size plate, fitted to the bumper using ‘sticky pads’.

That looks great but would be in the way of my front camera.

I had the same problem with the camera. I was able to fix a small plate with double sided tape to the lower half of the two uprights. Had this for about 9 months without problems before I got the removable mount.

£250?

Am I missing something or is this is just "the people likely to buy this own supercars, so why not" pricing?

I helped develop the UK prototype for these guys on the 458. I now have their version on my 488 GTB.

Low numbers so the cost of production/tooling will be higher. Fabrication may have not been farmed out to the east either, this all said, they are marked up to high heaven and would genuinely questions ethics further behind the companies pushing them out the door.

My 488 GTB started life with the number plate stuck to the front of the bumper which didn’t look good, so I replaced it with one from www.carbonio.com which may be the same as the one in the starting post. It mounts the plate lower and slightly forward and looks much better. It can be removed very easily.

I’ve bought their equivalent for my (hopefully) soon to arrive F8 Spider.

Every option is a compromise one way or the other IMHO so this time I am going to try a stick-on plate for the front. For the rear of the F8 a std length plate looks a little oversize so having a slightly cropped one for the rear…

I’ve tried all different types of sticky pads to hold mine on and it still keeps dropping off (fortunately while parked). Don’t want to drill.

Have you tried no more nails? shoot
