488 Pista values
Discussion
Think the Pista looks epic... the best of the V8’s subjectively to my eyes.
I always ‘wanted’ a Speciale; that was until I spend some time driving one c18 months ago. It felt old compared to the latest cars and the sound wasn’t great. I wouldn’t swap my 488 for one, other than as to minimise depreciation and I need to not drive it for that to work. The Pista engine is extraordinary and to me sounds better than the Speciale.
When you can buy a brand new, good spec F8 for £220k, hard to see a £70-80k premium for the Pista holding up.
Will be interesting to see what happens when/if Ferrari do a final, final run out F8, as this would hit Pista values further?
At the same price point, from a driving prospective I’d much rather be in a Pista than a Speciale. There’s stacks of these cars around though so can’t really see any of them being long term investments. Best just drive and enjoy them for what they are imo.

I saw some of the early Pistas when they were being built in the factory. To look at it is one of my favourite cars. The designers got the look absolutely right but that’s a subjective thing.
The pista is more powerful and faster.
I haven’t driven it, but I would bet good money it is an amazing car to drive and will be better than the 458.
If I had the spare money to buy one I would buy a Pista because they are stunning!
Will it hold money better than a 458 speciale; in loss terms I think a 458 speciale will hold value better due to its na engine.
I would buy a pista over a F8 without a second thought.

As pointed out above, the F8 has the same power as the Pista and a nice few tweaks in the cockpit - for circa £240K
The F8 is the final V8 hence Tributo; keep being told there will be no final edition, the replacement model due to be announced mid-year will be a hybrid V6
My F8’s in build, so hopefully will arrive end of the month

No way - surely they will do a Speciale F8, ...”which will be the greatest ever V8 the company has ever made”....and limited to however many the market orders. The F8 is the final V8 hence Tributo; keep being told there will be no final edition, the replacement model due to be announced mid-year will be a hybrid V6

I thought the F8 was the special version - its an updated 488 with a deliberately short production run.
kind of makes sense right - 458/488 are the production cars plus a few specials of each and the F8 is then the less limited new type of special that they needed as they were not ready to launch the replacement platform yetTP321 said:

But its not a stripped out racer like the Pista and Speciale - my money is on an F8 “Speciale”jasonwdh said:
too much of a money-spinner not to? Shareholders will be demanding it I would have thought.
This.... it’s got to be a limited production, last of the last milking of the Platform. Respect to them if they don’t though.F8 is mega to drive though; I just can’t gel with the looks. Unregistered great spec stock cars out there in mid 220’s.
