Just collected my 2014 458 Spider yesterday.

Have been looking online at info on the infotainment controls which seem pretty unfathomable. Also read stuff about an expensive stereo upgrade that nobody seems to rate highly.

My question is about whether there is a reliable way to bluetooth music to the system from an Android phone. I've seen the Bovee thingy advertised - does it work adequately?

Also, what other embellishments/upgrades are worth looking at?

Thanks in advance and apologies if these are repetitive questions.

I don’t mean to hijack, but I’m in the same position and cannot seem to enlarge the speedo! Help with that and the original Bluetooth query would be greatly appreciated...

Don't know how it works in Ferrari - but I bought one of those Bovee things a month ago for a different (ordinary) car - it works perfectly, and allows streaming from my phone with no issues.

This is a link to the 458 Infotainment manual. It are often missing in the documentation.

The system has bluetooth and often the optional cable in the glovebox for iPod etc...
When I had my 458 it connected easily to my iPhone via bluetooth. I had an old gun iPod in the glovebox for the tunes. You an also upload to the internal hard drive via USB in glovebox.

Amazing! I’m not quite brave enough for white, but I saw one in Portland Place in the smoke the other day and it looked really nice. Go on then, a quick image of my new toy:

I love it. I also find it quite tiring. I know that sounds odd, but it’s such an assault on the senses..!

I don’t think that the throttle is too twitchy or the steering too sensitive, which are two things that I’ve heard. I can detect a slight amount of vibration in the wheel (spider) on the really bumpy stuff, but it’s really not an issue in any way, and the car communicates where it is and what it’s doing very well.

I now understand see why they’re sought after...

Congratulations. I've had mine from new in April 14 and will never, ever sell it.

I've also been using the Bovee thing since I bought the car and it works perfectly. On startup I sometimes have to unplug and re plug it in to get it to read but that takes no time at all. I'm on iPhone but it should be exactly the same on Android.

458 or your v12 (forget the model), which would you go for IF you could have only ever had / have one of them?

If you just turn off Bluetooth on your phone , then back on again, it does the same thing. Less fiddly.

Thanks very much everyone.

When you use bluetooth for music via the Ipod connector, does the phone bluetooth still work?

Apologies for so many questions.

Use the Bovee on the 458. My F12 is a later model and has JBL which has bluetooth music as standard.

458 all day long. F12 is epic but there's something special about the 458 Spider. The turn in, ohh the turn in. I still giggle like a child. Give me a mountain pass and a 458 with the roof down and I'll show you a happy man.
