Hi guys, what the best front number plate bracket for the 458 ? Have seen some spring loaded removable ones ? Just worried about damage fitting and removing or if it might come off during high speed driving ?

Carbonia which i fitted to my 458.. Easy to remove in 5 secs and no damage or scratches due to soft foam lining.. Tested at 200mph by the maker.

Hi, I have no affiliation with these guys other than having bought their product. It’s well made and simple to use. It is certainly the neatest solution I have come across:

Hope this helps.

I run one of these on my 488 from this company and it’s been spot on. Running without a plate just looks chav...l no idea why people think it’s acceptable to disregard the law just because they can afford a nice car. Almost as bad as manipulating the gaps in a private reg to make it look like something it’s not (rant over).

Have you ever broken the speed limit in your 488?

Probably 5% of the time, which is 95% better than breaking it 100% of the time as I would be if chose not to run a front plate.

Great witty answer. I wished i'd have thought of it.

Very good but you get the point. One carries much harsher penalties than the other. If the worst law someone breaks is not running a front number plate then things are okay.

Look at the prices! Mark-up must be HUGE. I commission a local metal works company that makes similar brackets for my company, albeit for a different product. They could knock up these for about £50 a pop. Opportunity there I suspect! Years ago I had a local guy make me one for a late Gallardo. No screws, held the plate perfectly. £20. And that included it being powder-coated

I’m sure there is a healthy profit, but I don’t have a ‘local fab shop’, I haven’t had to measure up and make the templates, and I’m happy to pay for the convenience in this case. It’s certainly better value than the Lambo tax I pay on lots of official parts. You may have seen a previous post where Lambo wanted £1600 more for a set of winter tyres than my nearest Protyre centre got them in for.
I understand your point and fair play if you have the right contacts etc. but for me this is something I can’t easily find an alternative, especially when it is hard to justify essential journeys.
