First UK Roma review...
Discussion
Been waiting a while for these. Autocar review seems reasonable if a little short on details but ticks a lot of the right boxes for me.

Will be interesting to see the Evo and TG writeups.

Thank you, was quite a good read.
I do like how the Roma looks, just wish it had a V12 (doesn’t need to be a 6.5 l V12, happy with a much smaller one and 600hp and while we are in fantasy land, a manual transmission :-) )...
I know you’ve mentioned fantasy land but why do people in bother mentioning manual transmission? It is never coming back, especially not in a GT car like this. I’m not sure about the looks myself, it’s very Aston Martin.
I had a test drive in a development Roma recently at my local dealer and i really liked it. Very much a GT car and looked great in TDF blue. As it was a dev car, a few of the buttons didn't work properly but the essentials were there. Could easily be a daily driver and a car you could do a lot of miles in.
On another note, I reached out to Evo to ask them when we could expect their UK review. Unfortunately they said that the cars are currently out with media that didn't do a launch review in Italy last year so they won't have one until March but they're hoping that it won't have winter tyres on by then like they currently do.

They had 10/12 of them at Salon Prive open to be driven around by potential punters?Ferruccio said:

I was fortunate enough to drive one of them at the Salon Prive. Really stunning car in the metal and sounds great. One caveat was they were all LHD pre-production cars and mine felt like it needed some fine tuning or a good geo check as it didn't feel particularly stable when accelerating in a straight line. Mine was on MP4Ss and the ride was sublime although some testers have said its even better on Pirellis.Power was plentiful even after just jumping from my 488. One contrast between the two cars is the 488 could actually benefit from higher gearing whereas the Roma felt OK in that respect.
The various touch pads on the steering wheel to start the car and control the screen interface was unintuitive and needed too much concentration IMO. I much prefer the controls on my 488 in that regard.
I also had a long test drive in a proper finished RHD F8 with a much better instructor and is a much better car to drive than the Roma i drove. All in all based on my drive in both i can't see the appeal of the Roma when you can have a much lighter, much faster and easier to get on with F8 for a bit more money. The F8 felt honed to perfection where the LHD Roma i drove needed further fine tuning in the steering and handling dept. All IMHO of course..
