[quote=Saweep]Well there are new cars sitting at dealers not selling.
Nobody wants these things.
Discounts won 't be far off.
It's happened before...brave new world etc etc[/quote
I heard about people not in a position to take deliveries of their 812s losing their deposits and cars being discounted by as much for next buyer.
Can’t see it being different for F8s

F want to maintain image of exclusivity and strong residuals so not many people will whisper it, but it is the current “dirty secret”.

Just been offered £25k off a cancelled order!
Yes, just had a call with a similar offer... tell us everything we need to know about the market and enough reason for me to avoid and stick with what I’ve got. Too many new cars and too many people realising the true cost of supercar ownership for the first time imo. The pain is likely to only get worse.I agree with garystoybox that suddenly a lot of people are realising that the old model which relied on Ferraris, particularly V8s, having only a little depreciation is well and truly broken. You can partly blame covid but most of the blame must go to Ferrari - too much production and too quickly replacing cars with new models. I remember buying a 430 spider, brand new (spec’d by me) in 2006 for £130k and trading it in (for a 599) in 2008 for £118k - and the £130k included fitted luggage which I kept. Those days are long gone.

I thought I'd made a huge financial mistake buying a new Bentley instead of the F8 my dealer wanted me to buy.Seems it's a general marketplace issue.
I’ve yet to buy a Ferrari after almost taking the the plunge a few times - it seems to me that the waiting time for a new one is so long, and the change in new models so frequent now, that I would always be concerned I was paying through the nose for something that would already be yesterdays news by the time it arrived.
Cases in point, 812 GTS being launched at a time when people are still waiting for their original GTS order, SF90 Spyder launching when no SF90 coupes on the roads yet.
So I’m not surprised cancellations are being translated into discounts for new buyers. Maybe Ferrari has reached saturation point and reliant on die hard fans to keep buying, but potential buyers like me pushed into the arms of Lamborghini (yes I got a Performante instead of an F8).
Seems like the best place to start buying Ferraris is nearly new - V12 GTC4 Lusso appears incredible value at the moment - and no sign of it being replaced, unless you count the new 4x4. A nearly new 812 Superfast will be a bargain soon too...

I was offered both an F8 and a new Roma for March ish delivery about a month ago.Cases in point, 812 GTS being launched at a time when people are still waiting for their original GTS order, SF90 Spyder launching when no SF90 coupes on the roads yet.

OK so I got bored watching England losing to Belgium this evening so started streaming video’s on youtube to my TV.
Harry reviewed the F8 and posted it this evening and it makes interesting viewing. I have watched pretty much all his videos reviewing amazing metal. I have never though seen him actually nearly st his pants at the sheer speed of a car. You can clearly see he is actually scared of the speed of the car and finds it hard handling the car in the moist roads.
This then made me start looking at other videos of the F8 v 720s drag race and then an F8 v 992 Turbo S and was actually surprised to see the F8 completely rip both cars in a drag race!
The F8 is a fking quick car off the line. Will be interested in seeing track comparisons between this and the 720s but I think the F8 will easily take the crown.
I think as these start being delivered and more talked about they will be loved more than they are today!

several points in that video show how easy it wheel spins (I had the same with properly warm tires), it drives so easy to the point that it is not in any way exciting to drive at normal speeds, and the sound it makes is sports car at best (not supercar).
It looks very nice, especially in that blue, but I was dissapointed with the lack of any thrill / excitement.
It might be nice and fast round a dry track, but as a supercar for the road it just lacks excitement.
It wasn't until I drove one of these that I now totally understand why 458's are still such strong money.
Don't order or spec one of these until you have driven one....
