Verde Zeltweg 360 on PH
Discussion
Hi all,
Does anybody know this car? It appears to have been for sale for an age. I assume down to colour combo which is an acquired taste but I happen to love, particularly as it would match our QP. Anyone who knows the car, or has perhaps viewed? It’s 8 hour round trip from me. Thanks in advance.

This ^^^^
My F355 had close to 55k miles on it when I bought it and had been regularly run, maintained and all the known weaknesses had been attended to.
It was cheap on account of the mileage - and common advice is not to buy the cheapest car but in my case it was well sorted and cheap for a reason.
In the three years I owned it, it never let me down and the only mechanical issue was a duff spark plug...
If you like the 360, get it inspected before making the 8hr trip. That way, you can go view/test drive fully armed with what to look for and points to negotiate on.

I asked about this car in a thread on here about a year ago. I seem to recall that somebody gave me a credible reason why it wasn't selling.
I am not saying for one moment that what you say is in correct or untrue. However before this car is sullied, have you a link or facts about this?I have seen on more than a few occasions on ferrari forums, that some one says some thing about a cars past with out evidence or wrongly, and then discovered later that maybe it's the wrong car. But by then the damage to the cars reputation done.
Can you shed any more light on the accusation at all?

Saw this some time ago when first advertised,I said to my son it's a Ferrari trying to be a Aston Martin.Does anybody know this car? It appears to have been for sale for an age. Don't know why it's been for sale for so long unless it is the colour.
It was for sale as long ago when Sam from "See Through Glass" was looking for a manual and i told him about it but he wanted a Red car with the Sports seats.
If i hadn't purchased the 430 i would have bought it because it's green having had two green Ferrari's previously.
Haven't seen the car in the flesh but it looks stunning in the photo's,
If a genuine car the only problem you may have is resale because of the colour, when i advertised my green 308 GTB someone said
has it had a colour change as i didn't think they made green Ferrari's.

Agree with FezSpider so much verbal damage can be done by "He says She says "

There aren't that many green manual 360 coupes in the UK - if the VIN ends in 632 then you're going to want to see a gearbox replacement or comprehensive rebuild in the history.
Thank you for this, it is 632 and SMDG tell me it’s had a box. Do you know the car personally?voicey said:

Yes, it is that car. I haven't seen it for a few years and it was a lovely car when I did last see it but then I approve of different coloured Ferraris. The mileage is nothing.
It has been for sale, on and off, through Baker Brothers since June 2017 (I don't know them to comment). Strangely, whilst it has MOTs up to May last year (43,606 miles) according to the DVLA Vehicle Enquiry, it hasn't been taxed since 2013.
Note that the ad says "one of 66 UK RHD Manual 360s". 266 would be nearer the mark.

Yes. I repair these for a living but it's been a while since I have seen this one. It was run for about 6 months with a failed heat exchanger which allowed coolant to get into the gearbox which in turn trashed it.I would strongly urge an inspection before buying a 360 (please don't ask me, I don't have the time). They can hide all manner of expensive repairs if they haven't been looked after properly.
I love that colour combo but it is rare on a 360 for a reason. There are a couple of much more saleable rosso 360s with a manual box currently on the market for a lower asking price.
By comparison, a fellow PH'er recently bought a totally sorted Nero F1 from a respected specialist, with same mileage, for lowish 5's.
As said, you need a PPI when buying one of these. I'd want to get to the bottom of why its had a complete respray; fastidious owner or accident damage? Being sold by a dealer but ad says private sale?

Thanks all for the responses. Though the car is my ideal spec, there are a few issues I have with the way it is marketed. As someone above states, the car has done nearer 44k miles than 42, a year's mileage. The photos are poor, dirty carpets etc. Over 3 years on sale. It doesn't fill me with confidence. We have discussed price and I can get it down to a price I'd be comfortable at, but there's just something about the vendor that doesn't sit right with me.
I have spoken with Nick Cartwright specialist cars this morning about a TDF F430 they have available and have arranged to view on Thursday. I just need to determine which car I prefer, I'm hoping to look at one of their manual 360s while I'm there. I don't think I'd be interested in an F1 360, based on budget its either manual 360 or F430 F1.

The reason it is rare is because most new buyers ordered boring Rosso Corsa. The other side of the coin is that if you really like that colour then you're not going to have a whole load of others to choose from. So I think it works both ways. By comparison, a fellow PH'er recently bought a totally sorted Nero F1 from a respected specialist, with same mileage, for lowish 5's.

I've noticed a few adds listed by dealers but saying Private Sale recently. I don't know what's going on there. It is possible it is some sort of issue at Pistonheads end but I'd certainly want to check on that on any car I was interested in. Possibly with Pistonheads in the first instance.
Edited to add that it doesn't say private sale when I look at it now so may be some sort of technical glitch.

Well that car might not sell now, it's no wonder it has been for sale for a while.
It needs to be bought at a cheaper price by some one who can fix it them selves as a keeper.
It’s not totally out of the question that I may still purchase the car, it would certainly be a keeper but I can’t be blinded by the romance of the colour combination. The vendor needs to understand that when someone is offering him 64k after over 3 years on the market, it’s a good shout. It needs to be bought at a cheaper price by some one who can fix it them selves as a keeper.
