So where do we go from here? I drive a F430 F1 Spider, which is more than adequate for my needs, economical (given the miles I do) and sufficient roadholding, great sound and super performance. It's successor, the 458, has a better gearbox, the 488 improved a little on performance, as of course does the F8.
But, where on earth do we go from here. What good shaving 0.2 of a second off the 0-62 mph, already minimal? Or adding 5 mph to the top speed, which of course one cannot do on a road or even a track. All that really changes is the price. So ego seekers can say they have the latest. Great for Ferrari, but
Thoughts?
ps the Gordon Murray T50 gets my vote ... if I had £2.5M and could get on the list. Why? Because it is small.

I found the gearbox in the 458 Italia to be a little disappointing, probably unrealistic expectations on my part but feel they hit a sweet spot on the Speciale and 488GTB, its lightning in the Pista and the F8 feels somewhere along the lines of the 488GTB.
Other than that yeah I guess its improving things other than power! The F8 does feel like the most usable yet especially wit the ADAS gadgets (though the camera implementation leaves a little to be desire)

Sadly it’s marketing , marketing, marketing to those who must have the latest , shiniest kit ..... be it a car , watch or wife .
Fair do,s ... it’s a free country , and if you can afford it , why not satisfy your inner cravings
I started a thread some months back ..... base supercar vs ultimate ....... and the responses were interesting .
Essentially the same psychological factors at play as you really cannot begin to exploit the added performance ..... maybe on track , but now much time do we actually spend going round in an uneasy circle ?
Similarly when I go on about my MX5 ( and yes I admit it’s a bit of a tease ) , the “ looked - down upon “ responses from some supercar owners are cringeworthy. And yet the suspension engineering of a Series 1 is comparable to a 1989 Ferrari or Lamborghini...... so it essentially boils down to either ignorance or brand snobbery .
I certainly agree re wanting a narrow car .
Even more than that I want a low trafficked , windy B road with good sight lines .

Previously had two 458’s and currently in 488 Spider. which I think sounds fantastic (found the GTB too quiet) and has been the best car I’ve ever owned by a long way.
Having now sampled F8, really surprised how much the GPF has impacted the aural quality despite Ferrari’s best efforts.
No more updates for me, I’ll stick with what I’ve got, although will likely bow out of the supercar game with an 812 at some point, add a Novitec and find a tunnel to relive the F1 heydays.

Can you elucidate please
The ADAS pack is the lane assist, adaptive cruise control, surround view parking camera etc..The radar for the adaptive cruise is plonked right at the bottom of the S duct - looks like it would seriously affect any effect it may have. Also the cameras on the mirror look a bit tacked on, like big black nipples. I should have taken a few pics!
