Probably been discussed previously, but what are people's views on very high mileage 458s? By high, I mean 40K. Assume the price is right, the spec perfect and condition ok (given the mileage). Probably 'horses for courses, but I only due 1000 miles per year max, so in time it would even out a bit.

My manual 355 GTB was absolutely fine at 54,000 miles and 20 years old when I sold it in 2014 .
Went all over Europe in it on numerous occasions without any problems at all , right through to the end

I haven’t had a Ferrari since , but gather that quality has only improved since then .

I would have thought that you should be fine as long as the car has been well maintained .

I’ve never been bothered about mileage , as I only buy what I really , really want , so tend to keep them forever , and depreciation is therefore a non issue

Best of luck

Dealer local to me had one a couple of years ago with 100,000 miles on it. It still seemed to be intact.

458 is a very solid and reliable car I’d say a very high mileage example would be 80-100k miles and high miles 60k plus, they are reliable cars and like to be driven.

40k? Perfect. It's well past the point where you'd have garage queen premium, etc.

I haven't watched the market at that end but I would be surprised if there was much of a price differential between a 40k and 60k car. Imagine being able to do 20k in a 458 unencumbered. Bliss.

I really don't get this buy a supercar and not drive it thing.
Absolutely pointless.
I would probably be less worried about a high mileage car than a low mileage one which has probably been "corrected" annually just before the service and MOT

If it’s been looked after properly then it will be just fine.

Agreed. I made a big mistake once changing a manual F430 Spider for an ultra low mileage F430 Spider F1. It was not a good car, having just done 1000 miles in about 5 years. 200 miles a year did it no good at all. And I foolishly paid a premium.

Additionally, a car at 40,000 miles, having have all parts changed that are needed is a better car than one at 25,000 miles, needing many parts changed.

I started my 32.5k miles 2010 458 yesterday (yes that's starship mileage in Ferrariland) after 5 months on a trickle charger and hooned it over the Wicklow mountains. Flawlessly. Without a hiccup or a warning light. Most ejoyably. If someone has paid to maintain it and you want to drive it, then enjoy the mileage discount and carry on.

The cars don't have a problem with mileage, just the owners.

I own a 40k mile 458 that is 7 years old. Because it comes with 7 years servicing included, any faults or gremlins will have been sorted.
It’s amazing how it still feels like a new car and drives superbly.
An absolute classic Ferrari, up there with the 355. But unlike the 355, the 458 feels bulletproof and the quality is first class.

A few, I bet! Our poor roads are very hard on them - Hills or OEM.

This is the absolute truth. The market has inherited mileage paranoia that stopped being valid 20yrs ago.
