Gentlemen,

I own a perfectly maintained Red/beige F355GTB 2.7 with Scuderia shields since 4 years.... maybe it is the Corona "crisis" but I need a change, and I'm missing that oldtimer feeling my Alfa 1750gtv gave me ...
now to my question; would you ? I always loved the 308 GTB...

On the other hand I would like to use my cars more often for example for short holidays, is the 365GT4 a "holiday car" or is it too fragile?
Are they more expensive to maintain than 355s ?
Plus they don't seem to sell very well, I remember the prices 20 years ago...

I know the 308 and the 365 are different cars, but they are more or less the only ones that I'm interested in.

(I'm not buying a 911) rolleyesbiggrin

not easy I know!

As you say they are two different cars and the only thing they have in common is the badge. I would say you would need both of them so you could enjoy what they both offer .I've owned four 365's and lost count of how many 308 GTB/GTS's , still have a GTB owned for 25 years. The 365 on the open roads really get into their stride building up speed rather than a 0-60 sprint,Being a heavier car once it gets going it's best party trick is going from 60 to 120 with all the theatre that goes with a front engine v12,more like a 2nd world war fighter plane. Unlike the 308 the maintenance and repairs are off the scale if things go horribly wrong
you would need a friendly specialist to get you out of trouble, one that can work on the older Ferrari's as well as the later cars such as F355's ,360's and 430's where as the 308's are a doddle to maintain in comparison, Don't think you will be wanting to take a 365 to a main dealership with their labour rates and sometimes their lack of knowledge on the older cars, with replacing the ashtray's rather than emptying them mentality you would probably need a second mortgage . Although the GTB is a old car now it feels a lot more modern to drive and so pretty to look at,I will tackle minor maintenance and servicing myself but leave the heavier jobs to the experts as the bills have never been ridiculously high.As for weekends away if your destination involves nice wide winding A roads and motorways i would take the 365 if on the other hand if i was heading for Wales with their fantastic B roads then it would have to be the 308GTB ,horses for courses, excuse the pun. Both great cars as is the F355, I was going to buy a F355 but missed the boat with the prices rises and decided on a 430 which to me is a compromise between semi modern and classic. great car but still trying to get use to these paddle things. good luck in your search.
