Main Ferrari Dealer Hikes up prices
Discussion
Carrs are one of the dealerships putting up to £20,000 on prices to previously advertised cars
White 488 spider £209k now £229k, taking advantage of buyers that are trying to cheer themselves up after the pandemic.
But if your selling they should be returning better money for you
Most of the Ferrari main dealers have put up their prices, looking at older advertisements for the same cars, Independent car sales haven't
we are all looking to be cheered up right now but if its a car purchase you are looking at,
the smile is going to cost you a lot more!

Message really NOT THE TIME TO BUY
I think their attitude is you had your chance to buy at the lockdown depressed price and with late low mileage Ferrari's becoming scarce decided there's no point putting the price up a little, might as well increase it to a worth while amount. This could backfire on them especially on a white car but with the shortish of part exchanges coming in on delayed new cars ordered i don't blame them. Reading all the doom and gloom threads lately about now's the time to buy your half price Ferrari's and Lamborghini's even from a main dealers plate glass showroom window predictions have actually gone the other way.Phoned Maranello's service centre to book my car in for it's annual service and they told me that the sales department have been flat out selling second hand cars since they reopened a few weeks ago with a knock on effect for the workshop to get the cars serviced and out the door. You could be wright about this, cheer myself up buying,it could be temporary ,lets see what the winter months may bring.A proper be it Ferrari or otherwise will always sell if in the wright colour, spec and excellent service history and if it's to cheap there's usually a hidden reason for it. In the past have found that out the hard way.White 488 spider £209k now £229k, taking advantage of buyers that are trying to cheer themselves up after the pandemic.

It’s a “feel good” rush...in my opinion. I was at my local Sytner owned OPC earlier this week....used car lot where there are normally a row of between 20 and 30 911’s and Cayman/Boxster had about 8 cars in it. The buit where Cayenne’s are parked is full (they’re offering deals on stock Cayenne and Panamera’s) . Sales guy told me they have had a record month for used car sales as has every other dealer in their group....he said one of their Ferrari dealers normally sells 2 or 3 cars a week had sold 10.
Personally I find it incredible people are buying these kind of cars so freely right now ! Older/classics are sticking around and even being reduced, I’ve been looking at some older 911’s...not selling and I’ve noticed cars that were even listed a couple of weeks ago have been reduced.

Contacted by my F dealer late last week and they offered me a surprisingly strong bid on my 488 Spider. Either against a new F8 Spider or a simple sale. They were really struggling with stock as used sales were booming. I love what I’ve got so no chance I’m changing but if you did want out then they may not be a better time for a few years to come?
CARRS have drooped their 488 Spider price by £10k since this morning
up £20k /down £10k ..... when would be the best time to buy with these people
never I guess
Manchester has put £10k on their 488 spider and that too has been on a roller coaster for year!

a comment here says prices were down during COVID and should have bought then .
Well the dealership's were closed.
Most were contactable via e mail and would take a returnable holding deposit if you were keen enough ,I do know Maranello's were a little elusive during lockdown .Well the dealership's were closed.

Most of those people won't have jobs when they go back and they have only got themselves to blame

I bought my 488 in lockdown, did the deal with staff working from home, collected 1st June , kicked in the nuts on my f12 but at the same time I got a 18 -18 1 owner Very low mileage Corsa Rosso with Crema and a very good spec well for under 168, my point being if it’s good you will get a del especially if your car is in demand

there are car sales people still off, businesses are open, they and management were happy to continue furloughing until October - shame on them!
Of cause they will,if certain businesses were struggling before Covid it's unlikely they will be doing any better after .They are probably taking advantage of the Governments offer and yes unless their business improves drastically the employed may not have a job to go back to. Depends if the management are genuinely trying hard to improve their business so they will need them back or just playing for time on purpose knowing full well it's a lost cause ,either way it's the employed who will suffer.Yes it's our tax's paying for this but who do you blame ,the Government, the companies or the Chinese. Apart from a small percentage i think everybody is trying to make it work,If their is a next time at least we may have learnt from the mistakes, there's no handbook for this one. talk about going off thread but we always do.Edited by rat rod on Thursday 9th July 18:22

This is why now is not the time to buy. The reality of the situation we are in has not yet materialized as the Government is subsidizing business. Sit back and wait until the Furlough scheme ends in October. I think January onwards the market will adjust to the new reality - Recession.
