Based on what experience ?This is not a Mclaren or a BMW M5, 70k in a years time is not going to happen, if you believe all the hype if anything they are going to rise slightly.

Yes I'm fully aware of all the "Hype" associated to the car hence why they are currently strong money but eventually that hype has got to subside as newer and better products become cheaper. At that point which has got to be soon IMHO there will be a massive downward price correction plus add in the massive trade to retail bids Ferrari dealers give I don't think £70k could be that far off the mark in even just a years time but after only owning 4 Ferraris what do I know.This is not a Mclaren or a BMW M5, 70k in a years time is not going to happen, if you believe all the hype if anything they are going to rise slightly.

You should know the market then, The 355 was asking more than a good spec F430, why was that ? the 430 is a much faster / better car but they commanded a higher price ? The F430 Manual prices overtook the F1 cars buy quite a bit, again the F1 was supposed to be the better system and slightly faster to 60
The "hype" is down to what people feel about the cars and this drives the market and not the better faster car.

The 488 is a better car but and it as close to the 458 as you can get, they crossover in price, Yet the 458 is holding strong, to think that a £130-140K Ferrari approved 458 is going to be traded at £70k in a year's time is hard to see, but lest see. I would go and see them both

488's are falling fast and this can only put more downward pressure on 458. And its not only Ferrari's, Porsche 911 GT3's, Lamborghini Performantes and McLaren 600 LT's will all be putting 458 under severe pressure to the point where people will see the other cars as far better value for money even if not so much fun.
458 is a great car but its not a limited edition 430 scuderia or challenge stradale and there were loads of them made. £130k is far too much for a 10 year old car for me personally no matter how good it might be.
As sad as it might seem as a Ferrari diehard but at that money I would much rather have a nearly new McLaren 600LT which would leave it for dead as you would expect from a 10 year newer car. Its called progress.
Interestingly pre covid 19 I was regularly looking at 458 spider last year and several of the cars for sale then are still for sale today 9 months later and they are only £10k cheaper which is madness when comparable cars have dropped circa £30k.
I know there is a prancing horse premium but can't help some people will have their trousers whipped down.

But if outright pace is your sole metric for a car, you may as well get a 720S and be done with it. However, if you appreciate a proper N/A engine and the noise it makes and a car that's recognised as the last N/A iteration of a V8 mid engined Ferrari made, your choices are rather limited. That's the reason prices have remained strong, and whether you think they're overpriced or not. makes not a jot difference, because you do not maketh the market.

Don’t think you understand the reason why so many people love the 458, I drove 570S and 720S hugely fast but sounded terrible, shocking depreciation and build quality and reliability and service very hit and miss.458 is a great car but its not a limited edition 430 scuderia or challenge stradale and there were loads of them made. £130k is far too much for a 10 year old car for me personally no matter how good it might be.

Huracan and Performante wow wow hugely quick and the engine and transmission from the gods, but damn at legal speeds this car was so boring and not engaging to drive it was just too planted and the regular Huracan a lot of understeer. Even drove a RWD Huracan and on track too but just did not feel special or sorted.
GT3 991.1 and GT3 RS this was a real close match but ultimately if you ring it out in 2nd your at 85mph and around 115mph in 3rd it’s gearing makes it hard to enjoy on U.K. roads at legal speeds, but on track awesome and the RWS makes it feel so agile.
488 GTB yes it’s faster than a 458, brakes feel much better and it has more grip but driving it on the road and yeah it’s a better daily, smoother and would be much faster on track but the car did not get my senses tingling or me giggling or mega excited it just felt like a very fast sure footed and planted.
I drove the 458 and I was hooked I thought I was flying and speeding to look at the speedo to see 50mph in short it absolutely stomped all over the other cars at feeling engaging and huge fun at legal speeds and that is what I wanted just because something is faster does not make it better! Owners who want fun and engaging without having to drive everywhere at 100 plus we’ll the 458 fits the bill which is great because it has all the benefits of a modern Ferrari but still feels epic fun at lower speeds but is still more than capable enough and more than enough for any U.K. road.
I think it’s fair to say chasing lap times like many manufacturers have done so has made the super car become boring at legal speeds and the modern turbo and hybrid lose one of the most important aspects of a sports and supercar, SOUND!
My money went on the 458 and I have zero regrets, one of my other cars is an S2000 which is also a similar recipe huge involvement without the need to go crazy fast. Plus they both sound awesome and rev to 9000rpm
488 is an almost complete irrelevance to the 458. I would have absolutely no interest in ever owning a 488 because it's turbocharged. The 458 is something pretty unique and stands out over the entire McLaren range for the engine being NA. The only real comparison is the other car I was looking at the 991 GT3.
As for the OP tough one I prefer the look of the black roof one but the 2 year warranty is a big draw. I think Roman's car is overpriced when you factor the warranty in. I think the black one at GC is superb value even though they have lifted the price to 120k. If you were going to go outside the network that would be the car (unless you want a red one)

If you want the black roof, most of them are wrapped (I know mine is). Not quite as good a finish as a properly painted one, but for approx £250, it's relatively cheap and easily reversible back to the original colour.WilliamWaiver said:

Only 70k 458 is one in poverty spec with 100k plus miles or a category written off car, it is simply not gonna happen and the older NA cars are more special than the newer better cars and hence values. All of us purchased 458’s recently could of purchased a 488 easily but we simply did not buy the better car, there is a big market for 458 and there is also a market for 488 too but demand for 458 is strong right now.
