Hi Guys,
Having changed the exhaust manifolds / headers on my F430 i have had the dreaded Check engine light come on twice ( Bank 1 sensor 1 stuck rich) The ECU is reset no problem and the engine seems to run fine with no obvious problems.

Assuming the sole cause is the change of the manifolds, does this effect the performance of the car ? Is the mixture really running rich ? or is it just the change of position of the sensor in the new manifold giving this reading ??

I guess the chance of the O2 sensor being faulty is low.

thanks

Could be a sensor fault, some garages undo the 22mm sensor and unwind it rather than taking the time to remove the side panels. This twists the wire up and can trash them.

I swapped the sensors to the opposite sides and reset the CEL. After a few hundred miles still no light back on and the car seems to be using less fuel and less carbon build up on the rear exterior, so all seems well at the moment but for how long is anyone's guess
