Hi,

I know this thread is all down to personal opinion and other people's opinions shouldn't really alter your purchase decision, but I am keen to hear and respect your opinion.

So... I've found my perfect spec 488... it has ALL of my major desires, which I thought I would never find.

- Red
- Black Roof
- Carbon (dark) Intake Splitter (i think having this carbon (dark) makes a big difference on the lines of the car)
- Carbon (dark) Side Skirt (again I think this makes a big difference on the lines of the car)
- Yellow Calipers
- Full Carbon Package (Interior and Exterior)
- Cuoio (a rare find)

I was surprised to find all of these in a second hand car... HOWEVER, i'm concerned the red the wrong red (for me)? :-(

It's Rosso Scuderia as opposed to Rosso Corsa.

My Take On Colours
- I don't want it to feel 'orange'
- I'd never buy a red car, but considering it will be my first Ferrari I think it is acceptable to do so, and somewhat an itch i'd like to scratch
- I don't care too much about the colour of a car in terms of resale (buy the car you want, etc)
- Any colour outside of reds or silver / greys is an absolute no, so it does still fall into my strict colour chart :-) (I do like most Ferrari colours, but they are the colours I am sticking to)

My question... should I just wait until I find a Rosso Corsa 488, instead of buying a car that is 'almost' perfect to my spec? I'm worried that I might regret Rosso Scuderia and it's orange?

Anyone here ever bought Rosso Scuderia over Rosso Corsa, and regretted it?

Think someone else had the same dilemma with a 360 a month ago on here - I think they bought the “orange” red and we’re very happy.

Slight difference in colour but not huge enough to make a noticeable difference.

I have never been so caught up in colors as looking for a 458

I just want red, thats it, I would never ever buy red in any other car really but as soon as you sit in one in red you just know it makes sense .

Looking at 458's the only other color i think it works in is yellow and black. the silvers and grey just dont really do it for me.

Like you its my first Ferrari so it just feels natural to want red,

Thanks guys.

Yes, I’m going for red, but just slightly concerned with Scuderia. I think it looks great on the Pistas, but as much as the car is for myself, it would frustrate me if people thought it was an ‘orange Ferrari’ lol

Rosso Scuderia is not in the least bit orange until it’s parked next to a Rosso Corsa.

Exactly. I think most people, including myself, would find it pretty hard to definitively say a car was Rosso Scuderia in isolation. It is only when you see it next to a Rosso Corsa car that you can see the difference and even then it is as much that it is a bit lighter as a bit more orange.

4 years ago when i was looking for an F430, i looked at rosso scuderia and absolutely hated it. As it turned out i couldn't find the right 430 and ended up test driving a 458. This was rosso scuderia and i fell in lve with it instantly, so much so that i did the deal there and then. It doesn't look orange at all and in my opinion its so much nicer and more exclusive than the standard rosso corsa that can be found everywhere! I sold the car 2 months ago and i miss it desperately. I have decided to wait till the end of the year before i replace it and i will be looking for a black 488 initially but if i was to buy another red one it would almost certainly be a scuderia.

I had both a Corsa and Scuderia Scuderia at different times and much preferred the Rosso Scuderia. The only red that looks orange is called Dino I think. Scuderia does not look orange in my view, it’s just a brighter red.

Nothing wrong with Rosso Scuderia.

BUT.. the fact you're asking these questions of yourself on what is supposed to be your dream car, and first Ferrari, means you shouldn't go for it imo. You'll be wondering whether you should've got the "traditional, darker red" car all the time.
