488 Run In Miles

Hi,

I’m ever closer to hopefully owning my first Ferrari.

I’ve noticed a lot of cars on the market have very low mileage.

What is the run in period on a 488, and do many people stick to them?

I know Porsche people tend to really stick to the run in period, Lambo less so. What about V8 Ferrari’s?

Are people really only putting 1500 miles on these cars, and selling them without ever opening them up in their ownership history?

I specced up a car about 18 months ago at the factory - it was the first time I'd been over there.

In the morning when I woke up at the hotel you can hear a constant stream of test drivers taking new cars out down the motorway next to the factory/hotel.

You wouldn't be worried about running them in if you heard how they are driven before they are delivered.

As long as you properly warm the car up then it's going to be fine driven hard from day one - and if there's an issue better to find it quickly!

It's a great sight to see. When we visited we were walking to the factory for our tour whilst they were heading in and out on LaFerrari testing. Awesome!
