Ferrari Red With Red Interior
Discussion
Hi,
I'm actively looking at the 488 market at the moment.
Considering it will be my first Ferrari, I'm looking to go with red, and hopefully Rosso Corsa. I have two questions which hopefully Ferrari owners might be able to help me with.
A - Rosso Corsa: I've always considered this to be the 'Ferrari' colour. Is Rosso Scuderia 'very orange' in comparison? I have found a 488 with my ideal spec apart from the colour... it's Rosso Scuderia VS Rosso Corsa
B - Red Interior: I've noticed a significant portion of red Ferrari's also have a red interior. This was a strict 'no' on my spec hunt, and is ruling out a lot of cars, as I find that the red interior is usually a different shade of red than the exterior and therefore completely clashes. Can someone share their thoughts on this... for example, here are a few examples:

Rosso Corsa is the standard, non-metallic Ferrari red. Personally, I don't like it, but many people do. On the 488 there is an upgrade option that was introduced called Rosso Corsa Metallic. It's mostly standard looking but with a bit of sparkle in the right light. Same colour. Rosso Scuderia is another non-metallic red, but very orange to my eyes. I'd never have a Rosso Scuderia car personally. If you want more orange, there's also Rosso Dino, which to most people's eyes is Orange. Here's the red colour scale...

As a Ferrari owner when you mentioned red interior, my first thought was full red leather dash, roof, seats and steering wheel. Very popular in the Middle East. What you've linked to however is the fairly normal red carpets. In the UK Rosso Corsa outside, Crema seats with a black dash and red carpets is especially popular as I think it's a throwback to some 80s/90s cars. I'm not a fan myself.
It can be changed but frankly I wouldn't go down that route as things get expensive, quickly and you'd be better off spending the money on a better equipped example.
Just keep looking, there should be a lot of 488s out there right now. I've got a Rosso Fuoco 488, no photo does this paint job justice. Looks great in person.

- Rosso Rubino - dark maroon red, solid (expensive option)
- Rosso Maranello - maroon red, metallic (expensive option)
- Rosso Mugello - maroon red, solid
- Rosso Fuoco - very metallic red with a cherry appearance (very expensive option)
- Rosso Corsa - standard red, solid
- Rosso Corsa Metallic - standard red, slight metallic flake
- Rosso Formula 1 2007 - very metallic red with copper/orange tones in sunshine (very expensive option)
- Rosso Scuderia - orangey red, solid
- Rosso Dino - it has rosso in the name so should be red but it's frankly orange, solid
- Arancio Triplo Strato - this is actually orange, a very metallic expensive one

I don’t mind red carpets (although I wouldn’t get Crema with red - a very “UK” colour combination imo, black looks much better to my eyes when red exterior)
I would think the “special” reds is what you should go for when you have the option - Fuoco and Maranello IMO are among the most stunning colours around and much better than Corsa. Scuderia is indeed orangey esp when stood next to Corsa

I’m with you on the red carpets.... can’t stand them. Had them on my 430 and only thing that really disliked. Not just the carpets either, it extends up the tunnel, rear bench, etc. I.e. definitely not an easy change And then if you did, it’s non standard. Black mats over red look even more naff (I tried as a fix!).
Had Crema interior also previously, but honestly just think this looks dated on more modern stuff and doesn’t wear well on bolsters, often quickly looking tired without good upkeep . The cabin is so airy you get easily carry black seats with black carpets, particularly looks nice with full carbon interior. Do not compromise on what you want as there are plenty cars out there and you be surprised how big some of the main dealers will discount certain cars to shift. Grey leather or Alcantara inserts on seats can also look lovely. I’ve got the daytonna carbon race seats in black but with Rosso inserts and it makes the interior imo.
Keep enjoying the search

I had this issue a few weeks ago and ended up going for a Rosso Scuderia. Absolutely no regrets.
It is not "very orange" at all:
It is bright red, though as the sun rises it does have a hint of orange to it.
I bought mine on the basis that I could have had a complete Rosso Corsa respray for less than it would have cost me to buy a Rosso Corsa equivalent at the time. I will not be having the respray!
The red carpets also really work, to my eye. I would have dismissed out of hand any other car with red carpets, piping or even stitching, but it just works with a Ferrari.
Good luck, happy hunting and get in some to see for yourself (when you can!).

I wouldn't call either of those a red interior. They're crema interior with black dash and red carpets. A very popular combination. I prefer beige in place of crema myself but that's just me. As others have said, you can swap the carpets out. Black would look great against the crema leather.https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...
