Hi there

Noticed as I’ve not used car much over winter that when pulling away at low speeds no brake applied there is a rotational squeak coming from what sounds like rear brakes.

Once upto to speed it goes or either cannot be heard, it also seems only present when car is cold after driving and using the brakes it seems to go away or get much quieter.

It will return the next time the car is driven after standing a few days, seems to make no difference if it’s parked indoors or outdoors.

I’m going to assume there is maybe something that needs cleaning around the brakes or the brakes need a really good workout?

Both my 458’s and 488 all did this at sometime.... “they all seem to do that sir” i.e. nothing wrong just live with it is the dealer response. I’ve found a good hard workout of the brakes after a period sat will help but it might still happen from time to time.

Mine does it on the rare occasion if left undriven for over a week or so..Nothing to worry about and clears itself straight away after driving off.

It’s the handbrake mechanism inside of the rear discs. The RH cable is notorious for seizing on now they are getting older. The shoes then touch the drum when driving and at slow speeds and it squeaks.

If the cables on it just needs the discs removing, cleaning the mechanisms and shoes and re adjusting.
