Has anyone used a child seat with the goldrake seats in a 488 with air bag off? I’m assume you would just use the child seat facing forward with seatbelt? No base as no isofix?

I have a 2 year old who will need to travel with me somehow lol

Can you disable the airbag? You can't in the 458 - only the US model cars could do it and only with a special seat with transponder.

You can travel from any age in the front seat if the car has no back seats.

Law states a child under 3 must be in a child seat forward facing with the air-bag disabled , not worth the danger IMO

Once my daughter was in a forward facing seat I often took her in my Scuderia. Just make sure the seat is all the way back. There are some child seats that fit well into the carbon seats. If you want to know which one I have let me know. From memory I think she may have been 4 before I started doing it though, 2 seems a bit young.

From how I read the Gov site, any age child can travel in the front seat no matter how many seats the car has as long as passenger air bag is turned off, rear facing and then front facing when older.

Think most modern seats have a pressure sensor in them for airbag activation when you sit in it, child seats don’t put pressure on the rear so it stays disabled.

Don’t know about Ferrari but Lamborghini has a light on the dash in front of the passenger that tells you if airbag is on or off.

My little boy has been in cars since very young, even when he was still rear facing, just buy a seat that straps in with seatbelt as no isofix. Tip is to put it in with seat as far back as possible then move the seat forward to make sure it is really tight and locked in.

Are you sure - I thought forward facing in front seat = you don't disable the airbag as it wouldn't reach the child anyway if they're pushed back in a forward facing seat

Just bumping this - I have a 488 arriving this week smile - my son is 135cm on the dot. Daughter is 11 months old. I'm guessing I can't put the daughter in, but can put my son in, if he's pushed all the way back?

Seats are goldrake seats that are not height adjustable.

Did any 488 owners work out whether there is a weight-based deactivation or is it just in US with special transponders, as suggested here and other forums for 458?

I bought a V12 lusso as I dont think you can put a kid seat in a 488.

Pity really, I'd be tempted by more 2 seaters if I could switch off the airbag like you can in a Porsche.
