Hi all

I’m hoping there’s a few early Cali owners on here that might be able to help me with a few questions I have.

My max budget is high 60s so will be looking at the v early cars. My preference would be to buy an approved used one but they start at £75k so unlikely I’ll get 10% off (will give it a go though!).

Assuming I won’t be buying from Ferrari, what is the process for getting a Ferrari warranty and how much does it cost? Would be interested to know how much Ferrari servicing costs too.

I don’t think the posting rules will allow people to mention dealers to avoid like the plague, but would be interested to hear about any well regarded specialists that may be able to source me a suitable car.

On a side note, one surprising thing that I’ve discovered during my research is that a California Is significantly cheaper to insure than a 911. That’s £300 towards the extra road tax & fuel!

Thanks

I’ve owned 3 cali’s over the years at various times, they’re quite cheap to run and maintain in all fairness.
Servicing is anything up to £1500 for a major service from the dealers or around £800 from a specialist.
To get a ferrari warranty you have to book it in to the main dealers, they’ll do an inspection on the car at a cost of around £500 and providing there aren’t any issues with car they’ll give you a power warranty for around £3500 for the year minus the inspection fee. If there are any issues, they’ll need addressing before they’ll offer you a warranty.

Thanks for this.

That’s a higher warranty cost than I expected but makes the main dealer used cars look like much better value. Given my budget, buying from a main dealer isn’t going to be doable yet but out of interest, would you mind sharing the kind of percentage you got off the 3 Cali’s you’ve purchased (if they were a: used & b: from a main dealer)?

I’ve got a 2009 California that I’ve owned for 4 years now.

Bought through the dealer network and the 2 years warranty that comes with an approved used car does give a degree of comfort although there are significant limitations as to what is actually covered.

Servicing costs are generally pretty reasonable and depending upon where you are in the country some of the dealers are quite prepared to offer discounted rates...especially around this time of year. I’ve just had a “major” done and it was sub £1k...

Ferrari have also been offering deals on the warranty cost with a discount of some 50% so worth looking into.

If you want any more info feel free to drop me a pm
