Not sure I have anything useful but I have seen it in the past.

I believe it has only recently been listed for sale. But it was previously for sale back in March at The Race Car Centre for £115,995 (79,900 miles) listed as the vendor's "daily driver for the last 5 years" . In 2017 it was for sale at £109,999 (70,000 miles) and sold by Graypaul Birmingham towards the end of 2012.

This I remember seeing it for sale back in March for £115,995, at this time it had the challenge wing fitted and was also listed as having an engine rebuild.

It is a car that has clearly being modified badly, then most the mods removed and the price dropped by like 25k since March.

If its a clean car its an absolute bargain even with such high miles, but I'd be questioning why remove the mods, removing that big spoiler would mean its also had a new rear bumper to do so, as such has it being involved in an incident and is the real reason for the wing now being gone.

If buying pay someone good money to properly inspect the car, maybe have it put through Ferrari inspection but I suspect Ferrari would not touch the car due to its mods and mileage.

Thanks mate :-) Yeh that sounds like the car. It’s on around 80k now but has had an engine rebuild. I guess the mileage of the car reflects the price bud. The engine was rebuilt a few months ago at a cost of around £20k. I’m thinking it should be ok for a while?

Thanks mate :-) Yeh the wing looked a bit silly imo lol. I’ll check the hpi status to see if it’s been involved in any accidents and see if I can get someone to inspect it. Trouble is, the cars right out in the sticks and I don’t know of any ferrari specialists over that way to do poi for me. The car had an engine rebuild around 2k miles ago at a cost of around £20k

I know a lot of Ferrari owners do not do many miles but it smells a bit odd to me.
Between March and now its only done 2000 miles, lost its wing and whatever else.

I am sorry but at such high mileage and so cheap I'd drive it every day as its now at a point where more miles won't really impact the value.
If the car checks out offer them 80k and try to settle around 85k and ask questions about who did rebuild on engine, why was the mods such as wing removed, where did they get a bumper, who painted it because that triple yellow is very expensive and hard to match.

If good car its lot of car for money, drive it every day, stuff like the dampers go and I think its 2500GBP per axle and I guess other major expenses would be brakes all round so check the ceramics but maybe there is a steel option and of course the DCT gearbox is no doubt expensive if it fails.

I was trying to work the mileage thing out too. I can only assume that around March it was having the engine done and might have taken a while hence the lower miles this year? Would it be worth taking out a warranty wise warranty?

Would be interesting to know why an engine rebuild was needed.

Car was around my area. Previous owner also races and I’m told (and seen on occasion) this car has been driven hard. Even with an engine rebuild (I would want to know who did it and what was replaced) it’s done a lot of miles and the brakes, suspension and gearbox may also need work at some point, all of which are rather expensive! It will also be incredibly challenging to sell in the future due to mileage.

Thanks for the info. The car has had a new crank, piston rings, both timing chains, bearings etc. It was done by field motorsport. It does have a full main dealer history which should help?

A straight question and as no one else has asked. Is this your car?

Interesting point about mileage. I personally am only looking at 458 Spiders with less than 20,000 miles. My own F430 Spider has just done 14,000 miles.

However, it is better to buy a car at 80,000 miles with everything recently replaced, than a car at 65,000 miles with everything needing to be replaced smile

Sadly, mileage is everything on a Ferrari, fact of life. But I once made a big mistake and purchased a 4 year old Ferrari with just 1000 miles. It needed a lot of work as it had not be driven. They need to be driven, but not into the ground.

Absolutely cars not driven can be unreliable best examples are those with some mileage and used at least once or twice a month ideally.
