My Ferrari warranty is about to expire. Given that I drive so few miles, I'm happy to take a chance on component failure, but need breakdown insurance. My Ferrari dealership suggests RAC, as they are the company that will rescue you if you have the Ferrari warranty. But I notice that not only do you have to pay extra for a puncture, but they will only cover you for £150 per tire. Has anyone a suggestion for a good breakdown company that will tow me home, or to my local dealer + fix a tyre. I don't have a spare wheel obviously.

Ferrari used to have their own free recovery service for all owners - I suppose it is hardly surprising a dealer would not know about it - it was good for a tow to the nearest dealer - ideal for a puncture especially outside UK - try asking here Toll free number : 0800 3588 550

They still do it’s called “Ferrari with you” it’s free
They just need to see your latest health check, which is done when you have a service.

Just checked that number. Yes, every Ferrari (assuming it is serviced by Ferrari) is covered for everything. But they will only tow it to the nearest Ferrari dealership. That is fine for me.

I have a standard recovery policy with the RAC who will recover the car to whereever you want. In April, my F355 overheated an hour south of Glasgow and they recovered it to the Cotswolds, including putting me up in a hotel for the night at Tbay services. The recovery cost them £1500 evidently, so I don't begrudge them their premium which includes Europe as well. Excellent service.

What premium do you pay?

Around £260 which covers any of my cars I happen to be driving at the time. Feels much better value than the Vodafone Automotive monitoring cost.

I'll add that the Ferrari recovery is not free. You need to have the car inspected at the main dealer which'll cost, unless you can have them do it for no fee during a service as mentioned above. It did use to be free for all Ferrari's (I had it three years ago). I made the phone call to my dealer recently to enquire, not any more. A shame.
