I would have put this in the Ferrari V6 section if there was one!
Spoke to dealer who confirmed what I had posted earlier in the year I.e. there is a new V6 engine car about to launch in coming weeks/months.
It will be the Portofino coupe powered by a V6 1.6 litre twin turbo with hybrid giving a total output of 800bhp. Let’s hope this makes it into the F8 replacement as a mid engine configuration. Supposedly looks stunning without the the need to store the folding roof. Interesting times ahead and surely all future supercars will now need to be hybrid assisted to keep-up?

Thanks for info.
812 convertible is next scheduled launch.2nd September.
The V6 Portofino Coupe has been in development for some time and will be next major model launch.
F8 successor will have that V6 engine.

Not sure if the 1.6 ltr is correct but the concept of the V6 hybrid Portofino related non-folding hard top has been doing the rounds for a while with the latest guesstimate that it will be launched Sep 2 with the 812 Spider presumably at the public exhibition Universo Ferrari https://corporate.ferrari.com/en/universo-ferrari-...

The powertrain as noted will then also go into the F8 replacement

Corrected to say wrong date - it seems F8 Spider more likely in September & this car around November

A V6 hybrid fixed head coupe would be such a new venture, surely they'd give it a new name and not reuse "Portofino". I struggle to believe Ferrari would put 800bhp in a car more designed for "cruising" (even if the powertrain is capable of delivering that much).

hehe

Honestly though, why? 800hp, turbos, hybrid..? What about a NA 500hp V8 in a Dino evolution..?

Or am I just old?

You're just old. Hybrid and then all elec. is coming whether we like it or not. No point having a supercar that looks the part, makes all the right noises but is trumped 0-100 by a £30k EV saloon. Noise is a big part of ownership for me. Not so much for the younger generation now who no longer associate that noise with power. I can imagine my kids saying nice car, but why is it so noisy ... and smelly?
