Put simply:
Pilot sport 4 = great all round sporty tyre. Does most thing for most people,
Pilot sport 4s = most sporty tyre for normal road use. I bit more focused than above.
Pilot cups - Very focused performance tyre. Idea for track/road use but with compromises in wet etc and will only switch on a couple of degrees warmer than the two above.
I'd recommend the 4s tyres. Ideal for a 458 and arguably the top rated tyre in class at the moment.
(Supersports are still available in some sizes but these were effectively superseded by the 4s)
Someone will be along shortly to elaborate I'm sure......

Just put the a set of Cup 2 on my Scud and for the brief session I drove them, they seemed a lot better than the Corsas I had before (there was a lot of rubber on the track though)
Have the 4S on the FF and the 4 on the Clio and both perform without fault
Depends on your useage pattern I guess
Edit: can’t opine on cold weather as the cars are on winter tyres then as those are way superior then imo

£600!!? How on earth did you get them so cheap?
My post may have been a little misleading. The cost was £760, reducing to £660 because Michelin were giving £100 cash back when you buy 4 (I think this offer finished at the end of April). Far cheaper than replacing the Corsas. £760 for four is still a great price, or do you mean a "set" of two?
Regarding the Michelin 4S tyres by the way - they're not available in the "Ferrari approved" K1/K2 type in 458 size, but most people, including me, ignore that and fit them anyway. (I vaguely recall actually that one axle, I think rear but can't remember for sure, is available in K, because it's factory fitted to the GTC4Lusso.)
