I’m wanting to purchase a set of Scuderia wheels for my F430 as I’m not a huge fan of the standard wheels and don’t want to go aftermarket really. I really like the look of the Iron Grey Scuderia wheels and I’m keen to get a set fitted. I’ve seen them fitted to the F430 before and I’ve seen EuroSpares have a set in, will they fit the F430 as a bolt on fit and is there anything I should know before getting in touch with EuroSpares to get the ball rolling?

Many thanks

Sam

Had them on mine, did have the titanium bolts too which are necessary I believe. Not cheap at £137 each.

there is a Scuderia "Style" wheel that is designed for the 430, the fronts are narrower IIRC... i'm not 100% sure but i think the proper Scud wheels can give clearance issues as the hub offsets are different

Ah they look so good! So much better than the standard wheel!

I’ve read this elsewhere I think, I wonder if it’s just a narrower width or if there’s any other difference and if it’s nessercary to go for the Scuderia ‘style’. I pressume they’ll be a reason..

I have 16M wheels (which are the same dimensions as the scud wheels) on my F430 spider - no clearance issues I have noticed - the fronts are 1/2 inch wider and fill the arches a little better.

You will of course need to buy wider front tyres (235/30/19 - the standard size is 225/30/19) but the rears are the same.

That’s great to know! Really interesting stuff! Thanks for that info! Give me a bit more confidence. Wonder why Ferrari also mad a Scuderia ‘style’ wheel as well.

Many thanks

Forgot to ask are you using the titanium bolts?
Many thanks

Yes, my car originally came with the optional forged 'challenge' wheels and Ti bolts - the first owner went to town on the options! the scud and 16m wheels look a bit odd with chrome wheel bolts, but its a lot of money for a set of bolts.

You might want to consider the challenge wheels as well - they look great on an F430

I suspect it's more to do with the handling than clearance issues - the wheel is only slightly wider, and a 225-235 tyre width in real terms is hardly noticeable. I expect the wider wheel would be more likely to tramline and may be tweaked to work with other geo changes on the scud, but I think we are talking very minor tweaks to the handling rather than fundamentals. I'm not sure if the 'style' wheel is forged?

You will notice how much lighter the scud wheels are. the challenge, scud and 16M wheels are all forged and much lighter than the standard wheels.
