Anyone ordered an F8?
Discussion
After a chat with my dealer earlier my mind started wandering onto whether I wanted to put an order in for an F8.
Anyone got one coming?
What sort of final price is it coming out at with the standard must haves?
I don't want to sit down with the guy before I've thought it through as I'm quite impulsive when it comes to shiny things.
Cheers!

I had a call last November to place deposit of £20k which at time would have been 2nd car from dealership early 2020. In end didn’t proceed as will wait for Spider or for new hybrid likely to be announced in coming months. Haven’t heard re prices but on Ferrari chat there is info and prices for the US which seem to price same as Pista. Pal of mine placed deposit with different dealer last week and told early 2021 which seems ridiculous given what new tech will be coming through from new models.
Honestly, the 488 gives me more than I need as a weekend toy and for the first time really thinking i’ll just keep it long-term or until something really different appears.

I can see the appeal, much cheaper than paying £450,000 for a Pista on the used market and basically the same car.Anyone got one coming?

Two friends have - one is well "in" with Egham - car due in May 2020 (deposit placed when pics released to press) - the other with Egham as well and his is due in August 2020 - he paid the deposit on launch night couple of week ago.
Apparently only a 2 year run on this car - not sure what Ferrari are up to

My dealer said 2 years as well but there is a video floating around from Geneva with some big wig from the factory saying 4.Apparently only a 2 year run on this car - not sure what Ferrari are up to
I'm looking at 18 months they're saying if I order soon...car isn't making it to my part of the World for a few weeks though; don't think I can proceed without seeing the thing.
I’m going to the dealer launch tomorrow, Saturday.
I have put a deposit down but of course without knowing the price of the thing. I’d be surprised if it is as much as a Pista but who knows?
Hard to see that a future hybrid will be less given the extra complexity plus of course the weight. It is tough to know what Ferrari are up to. I like my 488 and maybe should have held back until the picture is clearer.

I think Ferrari future model line up is fairly clear for 2019.
F8 is an interim model which will be replaced by a hybrid V6 in the next few years.
That V6 hybrid engine will probably first appear in a detuned version sitting at the front of coupe based on the Portofino. Not sure if that model will launch 2019 or 2020.
End of this month will see the launch of a mid engined V8 hybrid at a much higher price point than F8.The 2 V8 mid engine models will both be sold at the same time (720s and Senna are probably best comparables although I don't think either of the F cars will be limited other than by length of production run).
We should also see an F8 and 812 spider launched in 2019.

I've realised the fact that I can't bring myself to put a deposit down on the car, despite it being refundable, means I don't really want an F8.I have put a deposit down but of course without knowing the price of the thing. I’d be surprised if it is as much as a Pista but who knows?

I'm just struggling to get excited by it. I've tried really, really hard. :/

Saw the F8 last weekend, looks quite good imo - definitely better than the 488 to my eyes
Also heard today the new model might be more like 600-700k euros as opposed to the 500k I had previously thought - so might not be a case of people taking it over the F8 after all ....
I believe the 600-700k Euro car is the one they’re previewing at Maranello in a couple of weeks time, which I’m told won’t be limited production numbers but will be limited by only a 2 year limited run (which sounds similar to the F8). Some very exciting Ferrari’s coming up in my opinionAlso heard today the new model might be more like 600-700k euros as opposed to the 500k I had previously thought - so might not be a case of people taking it over the F8 after all ....

Went to the dealer launch yesterday, one of three two hour sessions. Car looks good IMHO, a big step forwards from the 488. It was of course spec’d up to the nines, non-standard (better) wheels, matt carbon everywhere but no parking sensors to spoil things. The interior is also improved but whether it’s worth £100k to upgrade from a used 488 is another matter.
What was curious was the relative lack of interest. The audience was said to be depositors and a few fence sitters but I would say reaction to the car was quite muted.
Evo magazine is saying the V6 hybrid will sit slightly above the 812, not at the elevated prices suggested here. Who knows?

You see I went to the dealer launch on Thursday and was thinking of putting a deposit down, but I think it looks worse than a 488. I hate the standard wheels and the front splitter does not look right. I like the rear and the bonnet but the interior is nothing new and I just think it looks awkward. So I have decided to wait for now. It might have been that there were a lovely speciale and pista in the dealership which maybe took away from the F8. I just did over 2000 miles in my 488 to Monaco and back and loved every minute.
