Took the 430 out for a drive last night and the e-diff warning light came on....the car went from sports mode to normal mode automatically

I drove slowly home rather hesitantly not knowing whether this meant that the traction control was off now.....car appears to drive the same but clearly I'll need to get this looked at

A bit of googling suggests it could be a faulty solenoid but I wonder if PHers have any insight into what may be behind this fault ?

Thanks in advance !

have you already tried the good old disconnect battery and reconnect solution to many Ferrari problems?

Just been through this pain with my Scud.

Basically over a period of a year my EDiFF light came on, sometimes saying slow down (flashing) and I'd switch it to wet mode to temporarily rectify the problem. This happened more often over the year especially when hot.

The fix - New F1 pump (sounds worse than it is as a new unit is circa £300) and a full flush of all the EDiFF fluids plus system reset.

Now she works like a dream, no issues and I would even say the gear changes feel even more crisper.

If you need some professional advice speak to Alistair, service manager at Foskers who did the work for me. https://www.foskers.com/

Hope that helps

So you did not sell it after all? I just did the first track day last week - good fun to have the car back after the long winter

Ediff light alone is likely the solenoid or pressure switch. If the warning is accompanied by the Slow Down message then it is a pressure problem which could be one of a few things.

The error codes will provide a clue, but usually only a clue. The main error is flagged when the target pressure isn’t met - this could either be the pressure sensor or the solenoid.

If you’re diy-ing this then be aware of the really low torque for the electronic components. Also most aftermarket diagnostics have difficulty bleeding the diff. You’ll need the factory kit.

makes sense and from memory you have a 997 GT3 as well, right? so best of both worlds imo
Wouldn't even trade the Scud for its successors, still feels suitably mechanical and raw to me

I had the same issue with mine (2005)
Solution was to replace and upgrade the F1 pump
I still see mine up for sale from time to time, I don't think the new owner covered any miles since he bought it!
