What would you rather have a Ferrari 458 Italia and a 308 GTB or a mint 430 Scuderia? Prices on the two options are about the same right now in the US.

I'd have a 430 scuderia, justs seem way more special than a 458. Never been a fan of the 308, look s great but just seems a bit meh compared to the others.

I have no experience on any of these though. Just based on "want".

Just drove my Scud on track for the first time this year - I would take the Scud, still feels special. Even the 150km on the Autobahn were good fun
Not a huge fan of DCT, somehow doesn’t feel as mechanical (manual would be even better though ....)

Edit: the equivalent of a 308 and 458 does sound a little expensive though ....

Would a F355 have more appeal than a 308?

At the end of the day it's really about what you want (and like). All those cars are so different that comparing them solely on price is moot.

The Scud is part of the 'special' track focused series (CS, Scud, Specialle, Pista). Even though, at this point in time it is often overlooked, it may be a good place to put your money. The standard 458 is a depreciating asset. the 308 is currently appreciating and since it is an all time favorite and one of the prettiest cars they have ever done, will probably continue its upward climb.

It doesn't really matter what any of us say. What do YOU see in your garage?

Long term, most likely it will be the 430 Scuderia and an early carb 308 GTB.

as you mentioned the 355, a left field choice would be a road registered 355 Challenge - I loved my standard 355 and imo a Challenge - maybe with some careful updates to suspension etc to reflect technology advances - would be a very special car to own long term. you could also race that one in a historic series I guess (which might be the only way to enjoy these cars in the not too distant future ….)

I'm far too old for the road legal race car at this point. Having driven a couple of race cars on the road, it is quite the punishing experience.
