Hi Chaps,
I went to have a run out in the CS at the weekend and can’t the immobiliser to disarm. I only have one black key fob. The car is on a good trickle charger and fine. Battery was isolated too. I’ve changed the battery in the fob, and the light works clearly but won’t operate the locks. The key operates the locks fine and opening primes the pumps as usual. The red immobiliser light is out. When I laid her up I did notice that the light was on perm when driving. I’ve read that means the batteries in the siren might be dead. So I’ve replaced that (albeit with a second had GM equivalent). When that is plugged in with the master battery off, it bleeps, the old one doesn’t, and then goes off when the battery is re-connected. Still nothing on the red light or locks and starter just turns over. I’ve not got the PIN code or red master. I’ve checked the fuses behind the LH seat and look ok. Any other ideas? Thanks a lot in advance! (Will post on V8 as well!)
Cheers

I would recommend AV Engineering Ed will get to the bottom of it, mine had new ecu,s and immobiliser, of course it could be something simple and less costly, these units are failing regularly now the cars are getting older, do let us know the outcome, good luck Mike

The immobilizer has been the single biggest PIA on my CS. They are poorly made and really designed for cars that will be in the junk yard before their 10th birthday, not in a Ferrari that will loved and cared for for generations.

There is a Brit buddy of mine that has reverse engineered the immo to delete it completely. At least in the US, nobody steals these cars. I don't think I have ever locked mine. It's worthless and needs to go.

For those with immobiliser issues it's worth having a look on FChat as there is a thread running called Swiss Army Knife in the 360 section. Interesting stuff from Trev.

I considered deleting mine, but was advised that should I ever sell it, folks would be sceptical of a Ferrari with both the immobiliser missing and the car being none original, but I think I’ll bin mine eventually: OP if you read this how’s your dilemma going.
