I also bought a 458 Italia in Grigio Silverstone just before Xmas..Mine has a set of 21''F and 22''R Kahn forged rims but i also have a brand new set of OEM 458 forged rims in the garage.Michelins P4Ss are the preferred choice for the OEM rims according to most owners..You will need to use Ferrari approved ones to maintain the Ferrari power warranty.
Its an incredible car and my first Ferrari as i'm a Porsche man first and foremost..
Good luck with your new purchase.

Sounds like it might be this one below. If so it’s a beautiful car.

A collection of "only grey" cars? Why's that then... Surely the most dull colour?

Yep, thats the one!

Why grey? Good question, no real plan just how it ended up.

Enjoy your new car..... lovely thing the 458. I had both Pirelli and Mitchelin on my previous 458’s and think the MPSS suits the car best and can be had with Ferrari rating. When I checked with my dealer in Jan they said that the MPS4S was not available K rated for my 488 spider, so you may have a warranty issue if you go this route.

Bizarrely I’ve had the latest Pirelli Pzero on the 488 and its night and day over the older design of the 458’s - not sure if this newer version available for 458? Definitely better grip than Mitchelin when colder, also appears quieter but not wearing as well as (Pirelli never do).
If you’re on older Pzeros I would definitely consider binning and upgrading.

If you don’t mind me asking, what was the paintwork like stone chip wise?

No i'm not as they were on the car when i bought it..They're supposedly good rims and TUV Germany approved.I also have a brand new of set of OEM Ferrari 458 forged alloys still in their original packing. I'm considering switching them round when the tyres on the Kahns wear out. I was initially put off by these rims however after checks and the 458 was such a fantastic spec with a good history and just passed a Ferrari dealer health check with flying colours, i decided to buy it..
There are a surprising number of Kahn wheels on Ferraris apparently according to Redline.

Mine's GS too. I didn't want another red Ferrari and I think the grey is just sublime.

I drove mine every day through this year's (mild) winter. On Summer tyres.

I never really understood the fuss made about not using the car in those conditions...it was absolutely fine even below 0. Just had to drive it sensibly like any other car.

Done 6000 miles in it in the 7 months I've been in the country since I bought it...bring on the summer!

Collected,

Very impressed, it is spotless, even the inside of the wheel arches have been treated. Can never have been driven in the wet, until today!!!

Lots of theatre, valves on the exhaust are wierd how they open and close, may get a switch.

Problem now is I think I need an F12 to go with it!
