What’s people’s thoughts on the spec and price of this car?

The F430 is getting on a bit so mileage will become less important, therefore I would spend less (quite a lot less actually - 130k purchase price) and buy one with circa 20k miles.

Saw this at Romans a few weeks back.

Lovely condition but would look far better with a challenge rear grill imo. Hilarious price because you can never use it. And F430’s are not investment cars.

Get one for £120k as said above and enjoy it. Cool cars, lots of presence, great steering and don’t feel too fast for the road.

There aren’t many manual cars out there and I like red with the black interior.

Unfoetunately I haven’t got time to go up and down the country looking at cars but it’s good to get some opinions from others on here.

I was of the understanding that an F430 manual would be an appreciating classic?

£180k for a 430 is nuts and as mentioned, you can't put any real miles on it without a significant value issue.

It might just be me, by I can't ever see a volume model like the 430 being an investment regardless of the transmission, at least not in a normal market.

Investment? Unlikely unless super long term and they have dropped off a lot in the last two years - the amount you’d spend on dealer spread, maintenance, insurance, tax, etc etc would make this an appalling investment.

Just buy to drive and enjoy - if it costs you £30k to own and run for half a dozen years that’s cheap, cheap motoring.

I would wager a higher mileage Challenge Stradale would be a better bet at that money as a long term “investment” - used loosely, as in which one will retain more of the purchase price as opposed to appreciate further

I’ve lost nearly that amount on my AMG Gts in 2 years 🤔

Ok I’m starting to think that at £179k the owner of the car is in dreamland. Before it could be driven, it’s likely to need numerous things replacing and will shed value like crazy, if I actually drive it, which is what I want to do.

What would be a good buy if I set a budget for say £90k?

It’s rather daunting trying to buy a Ferrari, so many dealers out there selling them but I get the feeling they are just shifting metal and don’t even check them other properly before you drive them away. They just take them in , stick 10k on the price and get them out the door?

Buy from a Ferrari dealership where you will get a minimum of a 2 year warranty.

My ex 2006 430 Spider was £143,500 when it was bought brand new by its owner. It’s amazing to see prices 13 years later go above the actual first selling price.

Looks like a 488 might be a safer bet, 7 years servicing smile

Think I may pop in to HR Owen and see how much it’s going to cost me a month wink

2005 with 5500 miles. So an average of 392 miles per year.

If you are intending to do anything other than look at it, as soon as you start using the thing properly all manner of issues will occur as various components are suddenly asked to work again!

Way over priced in my opinion.

Hi SBPJ,

If you are still contemplating purchasing an F430 manual purchase please give feel free to give me a shout. I’ve had mine now since November ‘14 and I’m pretty sure I will be advertising it soon. It sounds like it might fit your requirements and also has the benefit of a Ferrari Powertrain warranty which I have renewed year on year and is transferable to the next owner. If you’ve already made a move on something, no worries and congrats on your purchase,

Thanks,

Al
